All the poll is showing is that different people like to listen to different music when playing Meier's stuff. Best perhaps, to try something neutral?
After all - once a genre is picked, which artists??
Without trying to step on anybody's toes, you could always consider listening to the artists on the free music stream "Aairin's Quality Period Music"

Well, unless there's a mad vote rush, it would seem a good list would have much alt-rock, many classic rock, punk, classical and metal tunes and some electronica, jazz, blues and prog-rock. (I used 15% vote as a kind of limit.) Civ theme's not important. Paris, you listening?
Folks, would it be too pedantic to put up more polls to determine just exactly what kind of punk or classical or metal or so on people want to hear? There's a bit of difference between, say, pop-punk and grindcore.

You left out DnB (drum and bass) and JUNGLE!! ...and 2 step, garage, trance, progressive trance, epic trance, acid house, progressive house, &c, &c..........
Personally, I think there should be an "other option" where you can fill in what you want, because there are so many different music styles out there you can't really break them down into 15 categories (and one of those genres is Civ-themed songs, lol).
For instance (not that I'd vote for this category or anything) where would "New Age" fall?
on a side note...Yay for alt-rock!
