It's all about some Punk, some Alt Rock, and some Metal! I guess I just like a three "some"s. Speaking of threesomes...oh nevermind I'll leave that for a later time. Actually, Threesome by Fenix TX is a pretty cool song.
Dr. Strangelove, I think you and your hand have had a bit too much of that "strangelove", so you better lay off for a while. Classical the best music, rotflmao.
Ramo, an idea for an Emo punk band would be Reggie and the Full Effect. Also, those Punk bands you listed are crap, except maybe Green Day! Here are some far better choices for punk bands:
Blink 182
The Offspring
Sum 41
New Found Glory
Fenix TX
Weezer
Nirvana (yes, I know they are grunge)
Stefu, what you should do is determine what categories of music will be played. Then determine how many songs you will allocate to each category. From there have people list some of the best songs for that category; I guess you'll have to be the determining factor in which songs to pick. Make sure you only pick the allocated amount of songs.
A few songs I would like to see put in are:
Punk -
Blink 182 - Adam's Song
Sum 41 - Fat Lip
The Offspring - Self Esteem
Weezer - Buddy Holly
Blink 182 - Stay Together For The Kids
Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit
Metal-
Metallica - One
Metallica - Fade to Black
Metallica - Enter Sandman
Metallica - Seek and Destroy
Metallica - Harvester of Sorrow
AC DC - You Shook Me All Night Long
AC DC - Back in Black
AC DC - Hells Bells
Guns 'n Roses - Sweet Child o' Mine
Godsmack - Keep Away
Alt Rock -
Lit - My Own Worst Enemy
Staind - Outside
Linkin Park - One Step Closer
Well, I do have more suggestions, but I'll just leave it at that. One more thing, though, could you please Personal Message me when you decide to vote on what songs of each category to include? Else, I won't be able to vote, because rarely do I come to Off Topic.

why have the sation playing just one style? A pethera of music, but good music, not britney would be much more interesting than listening to the same thing normally heard,
unknown, unique bands expand your musical tastes

the punk bands you listed are horrible,
nirvana and weezer(up until very lately) are thamong the few credible bands you listed
all the others have broken away completely from punk, they still like a fast beat, and spikey hair, but their concern is much more with money than music
which is why blink, sum 41, new found glory , are all interchangable and extremely similar and unimaginative.
They're almost like a bunch of bands covering each others songs

Yeehaw, I've made my cumback!
I agree that the station should rather work by elected DJ's playing stuff they like, rather than focusing on one or two particular genre(s)...
I'd much rather hear some smaller bands who have not reached big fame. Everyone who knows KINGSTON WALL surely knows that no other band can ever match their talents in prog-rock (or "Mushroom Rock", should I call it? ).
And speaking of talent, I might as well agree that pretty much all of the best bands in the area of metal and heavier rock come from Finland and Sweden. And bands from the same area usually have little to none audience outside Europe.
And those genre-listings are quite crappy, too. Depeche Mode, for example, would probably list under 'pop', but so would all the crappy MTV-stuff, too... (and needless to say that Depeche Mode is among the VERY few pop-bands (edit: like Radiohead, Björk, etc... well, none of them are really stereotypic "pop") that I can put up with...)
And for listeners of prog/alt. rock - what about KING CRIMSON or TOOL? (not THE best ones, but at least they should be known to you guys...)
Hmm, this might have gone off-topic. Well, you can shoot me if you dare
Edit:
And to the fans of Suomirock: Where the hell is CMX? And Kotiteollisuus? They are probably only Finnish-singing (hard) rock bands that can really use the Finnish language skilfully and suiting the music. Whenever I hear rhymes in Finnish, I just can't help but get ultimately pissed off - rhymes are NOT for Finnish! and vice versa. Well, I'm not going to use this thread on talking about languages and poetry/rock lyrics...
