My Suggestions Avatar Enlargement: We've got the solution

[Some of this is from one of my old posts on civfanatics]

Overall, I like the game. I like the AI, luxuries, resources, and corruption a lot. The game play and balance seem to be just about right.

I do have the following suggestions, though. Apologies if they've already been suggested, or if I'm missing some fix in preferences.

- Diplomacy is really weak. I think the UN should include additional diplomatic initiatives, a la SMAC. Some suggestions:

i) New World Order: All countries declare war on aggressor country until it negotiates peace and gives back cities with majority foriegn citizens

ii) Global Warming Treaty: All countries receive a tax for each pollution over a certain level in any city, and for any squares with pollution. After a set tech level, that tax itself reduces pollution.

- The Civilopedia seems to be linked to screens almost at random. I would like to be able to click through to it from the city advisor queue screen and from the civilization diplomacy/trade screen.

- There should be some way to look up all of the available keystroke commands from within the game instead of resorting to the manual.

- A command to give a single order to a stack of troops would be a huge help.

- Control-Q should NOT be Quit Empire (i.e. "retire"), it should be Quit Game (i.e. "stop playing and get some sleep"). I have 5 "Alexander the Worthless" Scores because I keep accidentally retiring when I mean to stop playing.

- I'd like an option to see the productive areas of the cities on the terrain maps. The new border system is cool, but it's hard to figure out exactly where to place new cities.

- The smoke and fireworks graphics for disorder and WLTK should be updated every time the game brings up the terrain screen. In other words, if I up my luxuries, I'd like to be able to eyeball the map to see how many WLTKs I'll get.

- Similarly, on the domestic advisor screen, the game should mark both disorder and WLTK cities.

- There should be an option to build obsolete units. Once in a while, I want a spearman, even if I have access to mobile infantry.

- It's a shame you can't upgrade spearmen or archers. Is that a game balance issue?

- Aircraft should not be able to [R]e-base anywhere in the world in one turn. Before I realized that they didn't do anything, I was teleporting them from my capital city to a carrier literally on the other side of the globe.

- Also, aircraft should work, and should be able to fly escort missions for bombers.

- Cruise missiles should be able to strike more than two squares off a coast. Also, it would be cool to have destroyer and sub units capable of launching cruise missiles.

- I would love an "action" menu that lists all the possible actions for the current unit, including the elaborate automations for workers, and the hotkeys for those choices.

- You should be able to airlift leaders and workers. Alternately, cancel airlifts for all units, and create an air transport unit (C-130) capable of loading ground units and flying them to other airports.

- There should be a way of intercepting trade. For instance, I am told hostile unit or city on a road blocks trade through that road, and hostile ships blocking every coastal square block sea trade. Jet fighters could have an "air blockade" mission, which would conflict with enemy "air superiority" fighters, and, if successful, would block air trade to a specific airport. Better yet, privateers could have a chance of actually capturing a traded resource or luxury for a turn.

More Suggestions Support Apolyton, buy Call to Power 2

- Also, I miss SMAC's unit design. Marines are almost never useful, because it is really hard for them to win a fight against similar era land units. (Maybe this is realistic, though).
