	A Bad Day Put an end to popups!

Abe was having a bad day. In the last few years the invasion of Germany had been going badly, but today came the real clincher. After having informed him that the Hanging Gardens that were being built in New York would be finished *before* any other nation, that damn Governor Giuliani 'regretfully' told him that the huge wonder was completed in Moscow a full ten years before it would have been done in New York. This idiot also asked why he hadnt been given permision to increase production when he had been offered it five times.

Lying back in his throne, King Lincoln asked for his Military Advisor. Confidently striding in came McClellen. Good lord. The General asked about the progress of the Hanging Gardens. Arggg! The King felt annoyed and told the man to forget about them and tell him how the campaign in Germany was going. McClellen rolled down a large map of the world showing the island nation of America near the country of Bismarck, with other lands including the Babylonians, Zulus and English.

"Well," the man started again, "as you know, St. Louis, our far-away colony has been taken for the last time by the Zulus. We wont get it back for a while from those damn Impi."
"And Germany?"
"Well, the captains of the galley miscommunicated and landed our offensive force before the defensive swordsman, causing our archers and catapaults to be cut down and captured. But since then we have landed horsemen and and swordsmen. Ill be honest with you, we did very badly. We have no men left on the Isle of Germany. However, the single reason we ... failed ... was miscommunication. If we have a well-planned attack we can do better... well?"

Lincoln felt great sorrow for the families of the slain. He felt guilt for starting this great bloodbath. He felt anger toward his overconfident "advisors." He thought for a few seconds, mulling over the question.

"No. If any attacks are to be made, take German islands with our new knights. Nothing more."

McLellen looked slightly disgruntled, but smiled politely and bowed low as he left the room.

good start will america go to war with the Russians to get the Hanging Gardens? Will the knights beat the crap out of the Germans? I can't wait to see! (hey I'm playing the Germans right now so be careful what you do to them hehe )

Abraham Lincoln was having a good day. Beginning to plan an invasion of Russia, he pondered whether he had made the right decision to make peace with those "barbarians," as Grant, his new military advisor, called the Germans. He wouldnt have done it, but Bismarck promised to send galleys full of treasure and spices every year. And to think, just last year, he might payed Germany for peace. The capture of the far-away city of, what was it, Denver, by the Zulus did not dishearten him at all. in fact, Abe planned on asking how many knights that General Grant would need to pay the Zulus a lesson.

Lincolns thoughts were interrupted by a man who came running in. what now? the man started to speak, remembered to bow, did so and then announced,

"The Great War Academy is completed! Sun Tzu himself has offered to be in charge there!"

It was getting better and better...

"also, the sistine chapel is nearing completion, and the former german colonies including bremen have offered you a gift of a brand, spanking new "-drumroll by the royal band-" Galley!

"good, good! im of to bed now..."

Not bad at all

When you take an inocent game like Civ3 and turn it into a story, it really brings the game alive. When I started to chronicle my games, I find that I enjoy them so much more. Especially when people post positve remarks concerning my recounts.

So many things had happened lately, lincolns head swirled with thoughts. wonders had been completed, the war with germany had resumed, corruption was getting to an all time high and galliant american knights were being produced in almost all of the cities.

-Grant!-, he called, -what do you need for an attack on zululand?-
the general took his sweet time with this question.
-well, to do some serious damage ... you would need quite a force...-
abe made a mental search to look for a suitable replacement.
-i know we need quite an army, thats why im asking you what kind and how many soldiers and ships you NEED TO LAUNCH AN INVASION!!!!-
-no need to get all uppity. lets see, you would need to give me, say, 3 galleys and 6 divisions of knights and ... a lot of time.-
-give me some time, and your wish shall be 'grant'ed-

all the people thought it was a great idea. a national poll showed 100% of people thought 'it' was overcrowded and that 85.3% of the population would prefer to live in a republic. so, the land fell into anarchy at the proclomation of lincoln saying he was running for president. this was a dark age for americans and when anarchy ended, everyone thought, hey, weve been fighting with the germans on and off (twice) for 922 years. and the 500-year war with the zuluz iz really ztarting to zuck. so, 90% of the people living in the newly formed republic of AMERICA revolted and burned their own city while they werent tending the crops.
