How do you convene the UN? Get a bigger avatar today!

Can I control when the UN meets? I built the UN, but I see nothing in the manual to tell me how to use the thing to get that diplomatic victory I long for.

Does the computer control this, meeting when it feels like it?

Normally, whoever builds the U.N. should get a dialog every turn as long as he/she doesn't allow elections for Secretary-General.
Pretty annoying if you ask me, I'd rather have an icon next to the city name where it was built, that can be clicked, just like the capital or the intelligence agency.

I built the UN about a dozen turns ago.... and I get NOTHING! Hmmmm..... any suggestions?
