a note on one zulu leader:
http://www.onwar.com/aced/chrono/c1...5/fzulu1878.htm
modern zulus
http://www.sn.apc.org/wmail/issues/960404/NEWS23.html
another leader:
In 1884, however, a group of about 200 Boers under Lucas Meyer supported the uSuthu faction under King Dinuzulu; this defeated Zibhebhu at the Battle of eTshaneni, north of the Mkhuze river, on June 5th, 1884. The Boers used this as an excuse to take most of the best Zulu grazing land of eBaqulusini and establish the so-called New Republic. They produced a `treaty', signed by Dinuzulu, ceding the territory. This action was condemned by the British government, which knew from its land commission of November 1878 regarding the disputed ZuluBoer territory west of Mzinyathi (Buffalo) and Ncome (Blood) rivers, that the Zulu king was only the custodian of the land and had no right in Zulu law to cede it. But the British did not immediately intervene, as they saw the Boer-Zulu land issue as one of Christianity against paganism. Instead, on October 22nd, 1886, they recognised the New Republic, and the following year Britain also annexed the Zulu territory north of the Thukela river, establishing magistracies for its administration.
Following the annexation of what remained of the Zulu territory north of the Thukela river and the defeat of the Zulu uprising led by Dinuzulu in June 1888, Dinuzulu was tried for high treason in eShowe and found guilty. In 1890 he was banished to St Helena by the British, together with his uncles, princes Ndabuko and Shingana. In January 1898 Dinuzulu was released from exile but demoted to local government induna with a small reserve of his own in the Ndwandwe magisterial division. His status was similar to that of all Zulu amakhosi in the areas under British rule; he was allowed to try civil and criminal cases but had to present his reports to white magistrates.

Memnon
Cambyses
Hystaspes
Artaxerxes
China
Chiang Kai-shek
Sun Yat-sen
Guan Yu
Cao Cao
Liu Bei
Yue Fei

Rome
Scipio Afrikanus
Valens
Germany
von Moltke
Frederick the Great
Guderian

Babylon
Tiglath-pileser III
Assurnasirpal
Shalmaneser III
Sargon II
(All actually Assyrian, but so was Ashurbanipal)
Russia
Gorshkov
Suvorov
Japan
Togo
Yamashita
Tokugawa
Minamoto
France
Lafayette
America
Eisenhower
Powell
Schwarzkopf
England

I hope I am not stepping on any toes here, but for those who want to include this wonderful mod in their already created bics, I have created an excel document, each tab is a different civ's city names. They are already highlighted; just copy and past into the Bic, but remember to remove the last line after you paste it, excel wants to put a character return at the end. I don't know how that would effect the game, but I recommend removing it.
Attachment: city names.zip
This has been downloaded 55 time(s).

you can also cut and paste from a txt file into the city box. I keep a list of cities in a .txt and then just paste it into my mods, one group for each civ.

Yeah, I just thought an excel file with a seperate tab for each civ would be easier to use. Either way though, it's just a matter of preference.

More leaders for Zulu if there's need:
Dingiswayo. Can't say he was that great one, and also belonged to another tribe (but to the same Nguni tribes with Zulu), but at least Zulu (Shaka too) gave their allegiance to him during a civil war when Shaka was young.
Mhlangana was the other power thirsty brother of Shaka.
Mpande, Dingane's half brother had Dingane killed and led Zulu over 30 years. He had two sons, Cetshwayo and Mbuyazi, which led armies against each other in their turn, Cetshwayo being the winner after the death of over 23000 warriors in an one day battle. Must have been fierce fighting with assegais man against man with no machine guns and grenades.
Dinizulu followed Cetshwayo, ruled 31 years (till 1913). Then Soloman till 1948, followed by Cyprian. Goodwill Zwelethini is their King at the moment.
annd thanks for the mod man

About the spelling...
Since Civ 3 is a game in English, it uses the English versions of city and leader names and they sometimes differ from the original. The ones we are used to include Athens, Rome, Moscow, Vienna, Prague and Carthage while the likes of Lyons, Munich, Nuremberg and Seville may seem less familiar.
I'm from Finland and throughout our nation's history, Viipuri has been one of its most important cities (the Russians conquered it in WWII, though). Despite its little historical significance on the world scale, the city has an English name "Vyborg" that we Finns find strange (and most of us aren't even aware that such a name exists), so I know how you people feel about your "misspelled" cities.
Firaxis and Infogrames publish a product (be it a book or a computer game) so they have to insist that the names in it are "correct". My point is that having some of the names in their original forms and the rest translated in English is quite awkward. Some of the names you've corrected are real typos, but Aristotle, Marseilles and Joan of Arc are correct, English names. If we rename Munich to München, we should also rename Athens to Athinai and Iroquois names to something really exotic.
Cologne is in Germany, but Köln is in Deutschland.
Anyway, thanks for the city names, Sevorak.

HiYa Sevorak, great work! Lots of people (including me!) are in your debt.
I see the last date of anyone posting is some time back, and pre-1.29 patch.
My question: Does your latest version 3.15 contain the rules for the last Civ3 patch 1.29f or no? If it does I can use it as the base to work from for my modifications, otherwise I will want to paste out the list of city names and leaders in it, into my developed mod so I'm playing with the 1.29 ruleset.
Thanks in advance for taking the time to post a reply.
Civ on.

one last thing - my laptop doesnt believe in apostrophes. where you see a hyphen in a city name, replace with an apostrophe if you want to be all accurate and stuff.
