Which sound/video cards are disasters? Support Apolyton, pre-order Civilization IV

OK. I am going to get a new Dell computer. What are the problem sound cards and video cards with Civ3?

Options are: Nvidia GeForce3 Ti 200 Graphics or Nvidia Geforce 3 4X AGP

And SB Live or Turtle Beach Santa Cruz.

This will come with Windows XP already on the computer.

There have been so many problems expressed here about computers not working with Civ3. Please tell me if any of these options will work.

Support Apolyton, buy Civilization: The Boardgame

Well, I really wish someone could help me on this. I keep reading about nvidia problems. Well, isn't Nvidia GeForce 3 supposed to be one of the best video cards. Why is it a problem with Civ3?

Don't worry about it. Get the computer you want. Some nVidias (and not for everybody) are problems with Civ3 not because it's not sufficient or whatever, but simply because it's a bug. It should be fixed in the next patch which was promised to be this month. So get the computer you want, and don't worry about a thing. It'll all be over soon.
