Doing better but.... Browse Apolyton AD-FREE

I have an idea how to do these but I can't figure out the little details...

How do you upgrade units?

How do you see the technologys other civilizations have?

I asked for help earlier about researching and making money and I was told I needed more citys, I'm doing a lot better but I still wouldnt mind some tips.

Ok, Thanks everyone!

For how to upgrade units, see the thread:
Top: The CIV3-GENERAL FAQ: COMMON QUESTIONS/COMPLAINTS/ARGUMENTS and their ANSWERS (not a link)
... which has many Q&A's, including unit upgrades.

For other's tech advances, the best I have seen is to try to trade tech's with them. You have to take into account that you cannot 'skip' technologies in trades -- you gotta follow the tree.

I read that whole thing! Increase the size of your Attachments

I still have one more question though, just thought of it!

How do you destroy improvements on a tile?
EX: Computer sits outside my city and destroys my mines and roads while I sit cowardly inside for fear of having to fight!

AND

How would I destroy improvements in a city?
EX: I wanna blow up something because its maintenance is too much.

Whats this?
"Save your forests till you start working on a wonder, and then chop everything nearby down to help with the wonder."

You can chop wood with workers? I thought they just built mines, irrigated, and made roads along with replanting forests and joining citys...

two ways I can think of: (1) bombardment, and (2) when your combat unit is on a tile with improvement, yours or theirs, you have an option of destroying said improvement represented as an icon with crossed swords on it. press that and kiss those mines, roads etc. goodbye.

Better than destrying them, you can sell them! In city window right click on improvement and voila.

And third question, no, chopping wood, around city, will not help you with wonders but it will give you 10 shields towards any other production.

Zap

Another question Support Apolyton, pre-order Civilization IV

I was also wondering how you load ships....

I try not to ask too many questions so I'm writiting my own little faq when people answer questions and I read every strategy guide, I even read the manual. But I cannot find how to load ships, I found out about ships from units in the manual and I checked the reference chart...

Answers are welcome, maybe its just a little button that appears I missed...

Another way to destroy a terrain improvement: press P (for Pillage).

Load a unit onto a ship in port by pressing L. Load a unit onto a ship that's anchored offshore by moving the unit from shore to ship.

And you didn't ask, but you can unload a ship by bumping it up against the shore. You'll be asked if you want to unload or not. If the ship is in port I think the L command will unload an already loaded ship (not sure about this). Or you can right click on the tile and select Wake such-and-such a unit on the ship.
