Yes the order of play is as above. Our NKVD guys got bored and decided to stir up some confusion amongst the other powers. The (false) soviet master plan for mobilisation in week 4 move has been withdrawn in the interest of harmony with our neighbours.

I guess this being the first time that many people are playing ZWK, they would want to experiment with some strategies on the single-player game before moving thier first turn. Things will speed up once we get past the first cycle.

The allies have played.

The movement values will force the pace of this PBEM to be incredibly slow.

Aye, but look on the bright side, this way there's no possibility of a Xin Yu style take-over of Europe in one turn.

Well, I think that if you doubled production and movement and then reduced the road movement multiplier that the game might be more fun to play as a PBEM. As it is the pace will be very slow. You're talking about a dozens of turns in the first year alone.

Actually it is two dozen turns per year. The Allies are the more boring race to play as you are constrained at the beginning to match WWII conditions and only become more powerful as America joins the war. If production and movement were doubled, you (the Allies) wouldn't stand a chance as the Axis have 10x your forces.

In a way you have a point. I had a live internet game in mind when I made the scenario. Then again I definitely didn't want to have one of those games where a spitfire could do rediculous things like fly to Berlin and back.

The game is not as long as it would seem, there are objectives and you don't have to conquer the entire map to win. For instance when the Allies lose London its all over and that can be achieved quickly if the Axis takes a risk and rush builds while ignoring France and Poland.

Ship movements will double when the right wonders are built. Planes will be able to fly further as the game progresses.

if anyone wants to have an idea of the speed at which the game moves, have a look at this thread

http://forums.civfanatics.com/showt...30&pagenumber=1

I will play my game and post it when I get home ( in about 7 hours)

Are you referring to the recon spit based in france? Or maybe the Mosquitoes that came later.

http://www.netcentral.co.uk/steveb/spitfire/mkI.htm

Photographic reconnaissance was traditionally assigned to
bomber-type aircraft, however, the concept of using a small, unarmed
aircraft, relying solely on its speed to provide protection was proposed
by Flying Officer 'Shorty' Longbotham. The Spitfire was the obvious
choice for the task, and the first two Mk Is were converted in October
1939. A five-inch focal length camera was mounted in the in-board gun
bay of each wing, inclined so that the field of photography overlapped
slightly to give a stereoscopic effect. Stripped of guns, ammunition and
radio, and with a high-gloss paint finish, the resulting PR IA was some
30 mph (50 km/h) faster than the standard Spitfire. Contrary to popular
belief, the Spitfire was based in France before the Germans overran
that country, the Special Survey Flight being established at Seclin with
one PR IA. It flew its first sortie on 18 November and, although the
mission was unsuccessful because of adverse weather, it nevertheless
proved that the Spitfire was eminently suitable for the task.

Got spare money?

The photographic reconnaissance version of the Spitfire had a range of 1300 miles(!) acording to this site. Standard Spitfires had a very limited range though
(once again, Google finds obscure stuff )

Alliance of Independent States Get a bigger avatar today!

The Countries of Spain, Turkey, Sweeden, Switzerland and the Soviet Union have entered into an agreement named the Alliance of Independent States or AIS for short. This agreement encompasses a mutual defence pact and the unfettered transfer of technology.

In its first statement, their spokeman had this to say:

The AIS will brook no aggression against any of its members

Isn't it time fore the someone to make his move.

Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

The Axis has played its turn.

Parts of Poland have been occupied this week, the Netherlands, Belgium, and parts of Denmark have been formally annexed as well.

(Sorry for not playing my turn quicker, it's finals week for me, I've been studying.)

When can we see a new map that shows the results of the Third Reich's glorious new undertakings?

Lets do a little regrouping here.

We're one man down and I think ScottF probably doesn't want to continue because there's no railway. The scenario functions perfectly with fewer players so lets let everyone who wants to drop out do so first and reorganize the game if possible. Or maybe we can abandon the PBEM.

Suffering from ads?

I am still in. I would prefer to continue to play as the Italians and Rumanians 'cause their strategic situation is quite enticing. I find the 'slow' pace to be kinda refreshing. France will still be around in 2 or 3 turns. They are 'minor' in a sense, but they present a fun game, for sure. I am sure we can find some replacements for the other players. Just make sure to get the new players any passwords they may need. I'll post my turn anyway in a minute.

Would JerkWB like to take over as the Axis? The independents won't be missed if an AI takes over. To be honest, the AI is capable of playing the Axis if you want to stay as the Independents.
