Those pesky foreign workers- why can't I just kill 'em?
I know that bombardment does not kill yet -hopefully in the patch- but maybe not in the patch will be the ability to kill workers outright (and not do the whole, capture, disband bit). Lets say i want to invade the ares of an industrious enemy. I would begin by bombing infrastructure. But my industrious enemy, if they have workers in the area, can usually, as a democracy, rebuild roads and railroads in 1 turn(1 worker the road, another the rail). I just want the ability to have the chance that my horde of bombers and endless arty might (just might) kill these guys (is that so unreal?). Also, I say, when we capture a foreign workers (much like a city) we should have the chance (much like a city) to keep 'em or kill 'em (heck, this could be the message itself: Sire, we have captured workers! do you whish to a:keep 'em or b:kill 'em). This would speed up military campaigns or just allow for better quick raids to detroy workers.

One last thing: The team at fixaris tried to make civ3 a more peaceful, 'civilized' game, get us away from war ad so forth and focus on trade and development- so they institute culture and resources and improve the diplomacy and give us new ways of winning. At the same time, after nationalism, every war becomes a WW and any time you try to conquer somebody in the modern age it becomes your own little 'war of annahilation' ala Eastern Front. Heck, if you only kill 50% of the civ's original pop. points (by comparison the lands withint the 1939 borders of Poland lost between 25-35% tops [including Holocaust victims]) then you can call yourself a saint. Most players, to avoid corruption, simply commit genocide. How 'civilized' indeed.

No, No, No! You don't Kill them, you take them to your new city (you made with your settler) and you DISBAND them, one at a time to make your rush buys cheaper.

Or, since they don't cost ANY upkeep except for your labor to direct them, you USE them. They might be only half as effective as your native workers, but OTH they might be BETTER than yours (depending on industriousness of the civs involved).

Remember, that in Firaxis' priorities, gameplay is more important than realism (or especially 'history'). You're redoing history, not recreating it as it was.

Kill 'em anyway! Support Apolyton, buy Galactic Civilizations

Jaybee:
1; If you are communism, integrate them into your city, then rush with pop. points. Works better than with money.
2: that's not the issue. I want to be able to cripple his ability to repair his infrastructure without having to land forces (which might get killed) to do it. My bombers aand arty should be enough.
