	when civ3MP comes out......... Support Apolyton, buy Civilization: The Boardgame

The forums will be flooded with new wannabe MP players.
We won't be able to figure out the ones we can trust and the ones we can't.

We need to make a team of trusted mp-players, and keep a db somewhere with the names listed.

I volunteer to create such an online db with records for:

- player name
- player email
- player ICQ
- available playtime (zone)
- number of good games
- number of ceased games
- caught cheated

we can fill the db with names right now,
and everybody that's in the db can put new members into it.
When you have played a good game with someone, go into the db and mark this player as a 'good player' (the number of 'good games' will be increased by one)

And of course when you caught someone like him cheating or ceasing to play: mark it as well.

that way we get a db with names of people we can trust to play good 16 player diplo games with etc. etc.

what do you guys think ?

I think there's already a list in everybody's mind for Civ II.
Civ III MP's won't be any different.

i agree with slowwhand..... and besides some people may have changed and to blacklist people publicly......... why dont you just hand out stars as well this way we can heard all of those unable to meet the high demands of multiplay and gas them

there are enough labels out there already..... everyone deserves the chance to play with people...word of mouth is what will get you games....after that its up to you to keep your rep intact...

many groups play with people in their cliques and many groups play with different settings..... and some players hop around ....prefering to widen their horizons...

if you want to start a civ3 mp list...... that maybe a good idea....but putting marks beside peoples names is going a bit overboard and will lead to an abuse of the system IMO

I have to agree with War on this one... Plus, it is a general rule that you do not use these forums to accuse people of cheating unless you provide all the proof at the same time. So many times we have heard that "so and so" cheated... a person's reputation being trashed... only to find out that there is no proof, just the fact that somebody lost to somebody else

So is such a list really needed? Especially even before the release of the game (assuming MP is ever released)... Probably not. As War says, we already know who we trust and who we don't. A list isn't going to make a bit of difference. I will trust anybody until they prove differently to me that I shouldn't

Yeah, and why don't you shut up about how good civ3 is while you're at it cybergeek? Nobody likes it and your constant "lets stop with the hate, can't we all just be friends" on the hate threads is annoying.

Don't worry, posting about it in this thread will surely help keep it a secret.

I don't need no STINKING list. I'll probably play with the same batch, while testing out a few newbies to see if they're compatible. Fresh blood is always needed to keep us from getting stale.

How many times can War and I beat up on each other before it get's a little old?

Well, DUH! We will keep on playing the same people we've been playing, and we occassionally add a new person we find interesting or is recommended to us by another person we trust.

Like it's going to change just because there is a new version of the game? And perhaps there will be rare situations that bring us into contact with someone we come to like on our own.

we don't need a list of trustworthy players, we need a list of exceptionally slow players. that way we know whether to eat dinner before the game or just go out and get something while the really slow player moves

i guess the problem is people are just too damn trusting and think that a new game will make people change their spots so to speak.

I personally dont care who i play as i dont care about winning or losing, playing the game is the big thing.

But for some the winning is all that matters and doesnt matter how they win !!!

no the issue is cybershy , if you cant paly session #2 then you need to get a sub, but the other palyers have to realise that REAL LIFE interfers @@@@@
