Well i can finally get on here again..... sorry about that the other night..When Barono left , icq froze on me and i couldn't get it to restart....and i couldnt' get on to Apolyton till just now

anyways, to avoid this problem i have AIM and i am fenwaysfinest.... for some reason i can't make msn messenger work anymore

SF and I continued for awhile after waiting for you for around 15 minutes. You must have had a good base because you were still leading on the PG when we finished. SF went Science, I went Leos, Commie.

Rah is being modest here. He forgot to mention that he made GW obsolete before i raise my defense up and most of my cities were on flat terrain.

I wont be available this weekend (3-days long birthday party in my countryhouse ),but looking forward to next one.

Your fortuitous stealing of gunpowder delayed the rush momentarily. I had planned on moving as soon as I got metalurgy, but I figured I'd need vet cannons, instead of cats upgraded to cannons, on the way, after you got muskets. It would have been fun to see the Diffs if War4 hadn't dropped.

But there are always more chances in the future.

Bummer. But since you show up quite a bit after saying you won't be around, I won't discount you yet. As long as you're not getting a TF.

On Saturday, they're putting a new circuit box in at our house so I'll be without power most of the day. (we are planning to be done by nightfall) Unfortunately the circuit box is in the alcove that all our computer equipment is set up in. We're going to have to move/disconnect everything to make room to work on the box.
So once we're done, I'm going to have to reconnect everything again. Hopefully I'll be done prior to our regular start time, but if I'm late, you'll know I had a run in with our friend Mr. Murphy

The group that usually posts in this thread play by "Rah Rules".
(He hates when we call them that)

Normal settings are:
Small World - lots of rock and bad land
Raging Hordes
Deity
2x Production
1x Movement
Unlimited time limit (we move fast, but many have families, and sometimes, there is just nothing you can do... we are a patient group)

Special Rules:
No City bribing... but units are OK
No trading/gifting techs... stealing is OK
No unit trading... stops multiple attacks and teleportation
No Instant Trade Route... you can't gift caravans just so you can get an instant trade route (teleportation)
No trading wonder cities... go can give it away permantly... but the intent of the rule is to stop wonder sharing

So if those interest you... please post your ICQ... We are always looking for "a few good men"... or woman too

Sounds cool, never actualy played those settings but its always nice to try something new

One question about the rules: Is it allowed to let your good neighbours take a city and vice versa to exchange key tech? (stealing always seems to get you the most useless techs first)

And as far as looking left... I have disabled much of the screen display to help things load quicker... Now that I have turned it back on... I see it

One rule Ming failed to add was No official alliances. (to avoid eliminating zoc/or lack of issues) There are many gentlemans aggreements. (some do trade maps) but they are always only good until someone decides it's not Fortunately no one takes the game that personal. It's just a game, and I have seen a few agreements go by the wayside.

Trading cities (by leaving them undefended) probably violates the no tech trading clause. But Ming is right, that particular instance has never come up for debate. It is interesting to see someone ask a question that we haven't covered. Most things have, which is why we use these rules. (it makes games start quicker because we're not arguing the rules set, just what we call them )

The normal playtimes are (starts between 7:00 and 8:00 Central time) and usually go to 1:00 to 2:00) GMT -6.
On friday and saturday nights.

One negative is that we rarely continue games since it's a different mix every session. (or if it's the same, someone was doing so bad, they figure it's futile to continue.
On the plus side, people will almost always finish the session even if they got off to a bad start.
