RIGHT?! RIGHT?! YOURE RIGHT?!
Costing the lives of countless others because they won't help the United States?
Bringing us to a war that in no way the United States will survive (or, most likely, the world)?
Believing that justice is our allies suffering attacks from terrorists (BTW, they foiled plots over in Europe)?
Please answer me this: Why should we attack those who are causing us no harm in a war the the United States is PERFECTLY CAPABLE of handleing itself?
Oh, FYI, 6,000 British troops are being held out of Afghanistan by GEORGE W. BUSH. Also, there are Canadian, Japanese, British, and Australian ships in the Persian Gulf and the Indian Ocean. The Spanish, Italians, and Germans have uncovered numerous plots destined for completion both here and abroad.
Lets speculate, however, for the purposes of argument, that they weren't helping us in any way. Why shouldn't we attack our allies? Because it is POINTLESS! There is no reason to start a second war. There is no reason to have our friends become our enemies. There is no reason to destroy the world economy. There is no reason to attack a third party simply because we were the ones to be hurt by a second party. There is no reason to cost thousands, perhaps millions of lives. There is no reason for this thread to even exist, because it is a pointless troll to get people fired up.
Wiglaf and Bob, I have to congradulate you on both your stubborness and your arrogance. Your mothers should be proud.

Say what you want. The only reason Britain and Canada aren't sending troops into battle is because of the political nature of EF. In the UK, for sure, an involved military campaign wouldn't exactly be popular.
Oh, but if they're attacked, TOTALLY different story. No matter what America says.
Therefore, Britain is a lying, commie, selfish country, as is Canada. Bush has been seen in front of the UN demanding more action from allies - I haven't heard anything about him holding you back. Hell, even if the US imposed restrictions, why aren't you making any noise? September 11 was an attack on your nation as well, according to Blair at least....go for the gold.
WWIII? Naw.

Hey Syrup! (AKA 'Wiggy')

I mean, when was the last time that everyone at Apolyton was in unanimous agreement over something???
Like Rev says, there's a job opening for you - but I fear that you may be over qualified!
===
The Entire civilised world has found different ways to support the US, which may not always be military... Countries like Germany and Japan have risked falling foul of their own constitutions to help out.
Britain has thousands of men waiting to go in with 48hrs notice for at least the last couple of weeks - all the US has to do is say the word... We have our own carrier strike force (albeit modest in size compared to the US) in the Arabian Sea and waiting to be called upon. We have logistical and tactical support aircraft such as refuelling planes, AWACS and Canberras making sorties over and around Afghanistan. We have also supplied a base for B-52s to fly from Diego Garcia... Not to mention that senior British politicians have visited some of the most volatile Middle East nations such as Iran, Syria, Egypt and Israel at no small personal risk - George Bush hasn't stepped out of the country since Sept 11, much less his ranch...
We already have hundreds of special forces already inside Afghanistan (Indeed just after Kabul airport we may even have had more men in Afghanistan than the US for a time), protecting and repairing Bagram airbase and searching for OBL. We were there helping with the US quell the Taliban prisoner uprising and we have had several troops wounded in a firefight in a separate action...
The fact is that the US is quite rightly 'running the show' and British forces have contributed in a great many ways and will continue to do so as and well called upon! Indeed we have even been protesting strongly that we haven't been allowed to participate enough! When the 100+ Commandos secured Bagram, it was on the understanding that it was to be prepared for landing thousands of British soldiers a few days later - the US actually changed their mind because of NA protests and it actually left our Commandos in a potentially precarious position as they were cut off on their own surrounded by thousands of increasingly hostile 'allies'...
What I find insulting is being accused of not helping, when we are helping and risking the lives of our soldiers to do so!
Perhaps when those SAS soldiers have recovered from their wounds they should go round to Syrup's house and see what he has to say for himself then...?
What people like Syrup and Doormat can't get into their tiny minds is the fact that the World has shown solidarity with the US and proved that the US is not alone in facing these dangers - I fully accept that my country has become a confirmed target for these terrorists and that more British civilians (other than the hundreds killed on Sep 11!) may die before this gets resolved!
But that is a risk you take when you stand up to terrorism by siding with an ally.
Either way, we're with you USA, but perhaps you could allow us to send in our troops if only to shut morons like Syrup and Doormat up...
