Is it just my imagination, or did certain terrain elements used to be animated?
Can someone out there confirm that, for example, a coast tile with fish in it should have just a static image of a fish hanging in the air above the water? I seem to remember it jumping and splashing in an incidental animation when I first started my game...
Of course, I could just be delusional after playing much too long. :-)

In Civ II:Test of Time, some resources were animated. I don't think they were in any other civ. (real civ, that is. Dunno about CTP 1/2)

Cool, it seems I'm just delusional. What a relief. ;-)
