	Is this red supposed to be Ferrari red? Enter the AD-FREE zone

What the hell had they in mind when chosing the colors for the different civs?
One new aspect of the game is culture, so why did they not gave real life cultural colors to the civs?
It always hurts me when looking at the world map to have to thing "No, the blues are NOT the Frogs, the greys are NOT the Germs, the reds are NOT the Brits or the Commies and the purples are NOT Rome"


They even could have chosen their logic:
(N)apoleon time uniforms; National (S)port team suits, (F1)ormula1 color, (C)ar best design color, (WW)1/2 uniform; wargame (Wg) traditional colors,...

France:
Blue: N, S, F1, C, WW1, Wg;

Germ-land:
Grey: N, Wg, WW2 (Feldgrau)
white (and black): S, Imperial flag
Silver: F1, C

Rome:
Purple: the roman imperial color, please!!!
btw: is this red roman color supposed to be the Ferrari red

England:
Red: N, Wg
NavyBlue: S
tan: WW1, WW2

US: Army green: WW2, Wg

I am sure that there should be a Japanese/Persian/Chinese/whatever Imperial color, an indian national color, or any other Iroquoise sacred color.
A little bit of cultural research wouldn't have hurt..

I agree the colours are dubiuos. I don't see why the option to select colours was not made available.


BTW When do England play sports in navy blue? Its white for football and rugby the two major team sports.

I didn't remember the color of the England sport team, so I asked a collegue. Seems he was wrong, sorry.

BTW: another collegue told me about a 'racing green' for GB F1 cars. Is this correct?

army green? i think not.

a blue for the union (and used in the revelutionary war) would be better i think. but, they have enough reb generals to make it grey

Not these days, McLaren aren't for example. In the past Jaguar were associated with motor-racing and they are as renowned for their green as Ferrari is its red.

Yeap it remains from the past racing teams:
Italians were always red: Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Maserati.
British - dark green: Jaguar, Aston Martin, Bentley.
German - silver: Porsche, Mercedes...
