You can, in fact, start the game without air superiority. And win it, too. However, it would be nice to have what the AI has. "The end of November" has passed; a new time prediction would be nice. Of course, an actual patch would be better.

Have someone find the PATCH UPDATE thread for you at the top of this page and to read it to you. Then, have someone explain calendars and weeks to you. If the patch update thread was more than just a revitalization of the 'Optimists vs. Pessimists' rant fest, I might actually suggest walldummer go there for the info he seeks.

As it stands now, that thread a digital inch from being closed.

It gives him the information he allegedly seeks. Even my wife, a Phlegmatic, understands clearly from that thread both when Firaxis hopes to release the patch and what sort of contingencies might delay it.

From how I understood walldrummer's query, he seeks a more current update.

In either case, I still suggest people of sanity to avoid that thread entirely, lest they be caught in the swirling vortex of preponderant discourse that has formed there.

I don't see any reason to close it; I mean, it fits in with the majority of the threads of late. 'Course, the internet itself is more than 99% chaff.
