Industrious and Commercial Support Apolyton or Terrorists Win

In the manual it says that industrious civs produce extra shields in LARGE POPULATION cities and commerical civs extra commerce.
what im asking here is: how big does a city have need to be to be considered large population?

I'm guessing it must have over 6 population, but I could be wrong.

However, my main reason for playing Industrious is for the double speed workers.

Got spare money?

Town: 6 or under
City: 7 - 12
Metropolis: 13+

I believe it's 0 extra, 1 extra, and 2 extra.

Support Apolyton buy from Amazon

The French, being industrious AND commercial, receive a potent city tile bonus this way. Goodness.

Support Apolyton, pre-order Civilization IV

Yeah, but the extra shields are often meaningless. This is because excess shields are dropped when an item is complete.

Commercial is nice early but the crippling corruption in the middle and end game combined with the increasing cost of improvements/tech make this less valuable compared to Military. The extra leaders will allow you to rush build wonders that the AI may otherwise complete before you. In a long game, you probably have more than enough gold anyway since science is capped at 4 turns.

The value of Industrious depends on your starting position and playstyle. I go for early conquest/domination victories. For my playstyle, the bonus production is outweighed by not having an early special unit with extra movement. The best civlizations for early conquest are the Aztecs and Egyptians simply because of their special units. I haven't tried the Iroquois yet. In longer games, Industrious has a larger value.

But corruption overall is significantly lower for the French. And after enough successive WLTS days, it begins to reduce even more. Thus, the late game is where its advantages really begin to shine.

Help yourself to an AD-FREE life

I dunno, you can make industrious felt pretty early. Those fast workers mean that your cities will be bigger and more productive sooner. And given the opportunity cost of creating workers in the early game, that can be pretty powerful. It can make the difference between getting that wonder and not.

and also, commercial cities not only produce extra commerce, but they also have less corruption, does that mean WASTE is reduced as well? if it is, then it means that commercials civs also have an industrious characteristic, no?
