Hi. I just wanted to know if resources (especially strategic) are permanent. I had a city with iron (mined) and after a number of turns (forget how many it was), a dialog box came up and said "Resource has been used up". Does that mean all resources 'dry up' after a while? Or does it only happen when you mine it?

All strategic resources except horses and rubber have a chance of disappearing. I believe that when a resource disappears, it immediately reapppears somewhere else.
I have seen it suggested that a resource does not disappear unless there is a road in its square (allowing you to save a spare resource in case the one you were using runs out). But I don't know if that has been verified.
