Greetings,
I haven't been near any blackholes, at least none that I recall. These past several weeks, or it may be months, I have been suffering from amnesia. I have just regained my true identity when an icicle fell smac on my head nearly piercing my cranium. Because of the happy return of my memory, I am anxious to find some diversion from several paternity cases now pending by playing some smax. I suggest a brand new game for a brand new year to tide us over until Civ III and MoO III come our way.

Sorry guys, was sucked back into the hole...

My thesis (for my chemistry diploma/master's) was about cloning some subdomains of myosin V -> molecular biology / biochemistry. Nothing spectacular and nothing I would love to do again. I am glad it is over...

Re: games. I would love to start another game, 3 or 4 players? But not more than 2 games.
I am also waiting for MoO III. Is it going to be pbem? Or is Civ II pbem?

Also: our (Flomper and me) pet project SteamWeasel is getting close to its first release (alpha, far from feature complete). If any of you are into programming or game design, feel free to join us! http://steamweasel.sourceforge.net
It is written in Cocoa/OpenGL and is purely pbem although we will have single player modes if we ever get to the AI part... Also we are not doing a sequential pbem where a game can get stcuk by one player not playing, but a multi-tasked pbem with a serve that processes turns no matter if you send your turn or not. "Queue" Is the big word here..and you need to plan ahead.
And if you guys dont have time now, we will be looking for beta testers in a year or so..

Since not all of us returned, I think a new game would be great. If we can keep a new game going I sugjest that we ask googlie to setup; because, I was very pleased with the way he setup the other game I'm in.

Its been a sad lot to continue to see no posts in the Smac Mac forum.
because of that, i stopped checking it. Consequently, imagine my surprise when not only do i see posts, but i actually see a new game developing. If there is room, i would gladdly join (my internet is working, too).

For speed reasons I think it best to stick to 4 players per game. Shall I get Googlie to set up it up, or should we do it ourselves? Eather way, we need to chose our prefered game rules, map size, and factions.

Factions in choice order: Morgan, Spartans, Believers
Game: SMAC
Map: Standard / Rainy & Flat

Rules: I don't mind these much.
