	GRAPHICS: New City Tiles Suffering from ads?

Take a look at the Asian city graphics for modern day and you know, hey it don't look like that.

So here's Smiley's City Set #1- Shinjuku
This one is designed to look like a Japanese city in real life.

Since my CIV III don't work (Stupid bugs!) I haven't been able to test it yet. Someone wanna do that for me?

More city sets are coming!

I just tested the graphics, cities appear okay on the plains, grasslands, and desert. But the pink background will show if the city is on hills or mountains. So, I think you need to get some art experts in this forum to fix it. Other than that, the cities look cool.

Here's the second set... Taipei. more to come...

Got game to work. Haven't figured out why it doesn't work on mountains and hills. This time I kept the last two (background colors) as original (blue and pink) instead of green and pink. I haven't got to the modern age yet so i haven't tested yet...

Sorry I forgot to mention that your Taipei graphics are great! The Japanese graphics are good, too, but I think they need more color--maybe neon outlining some of the buildings? Just a suggestion. I am looking forward to the Mesoamerican architecture. Anyone for Aztec Deco?

If the Tokyo city art lacks color, then it is drawn accurately.

Frankly, the Taipei art is a bit too colorful

(That big red hotel is not downtown either!)

#4, the South asian city tileset, is in the works already. Should I use it to overwrite the Mid East or the Asian tiles? I'm thinking Mid East...

Yup, it was font issues. I fixed it by shutting down every single program running in the background before civvin'. And it works now.

You need to check your pallet. The Shinjuku wall shows the transparent around the city.

go to this thread near the bottom is a link to pkzipfix which will correc the problem with the taipei zip (I've used and now have those graphics in game).

Thanks for your help. Unfortunately, when I try to download either of those attachments, it defaults to - you guessed it - attachment. I fear I may go mad.

I tried every possible renaming scheme imaginable - to no avail. I only get this problem at Apolyton, and strangely enough only in the Civ 3 forum. Strangeness abound. If there is anybody out there who could send me smileys Taipei graphics or point me to another place on the web where it could be downloaded I would be very grateful. Amesjustin@hotmail.com. Thanks.

it defaults to attachment, but that's just it it defaults, but can be changed. lets say you clink on a link to download a file and it brings up the save file as box:


1. rename the file from "attachment" to "cake"

2. click on where it says file type: attachment and then use the drop down menu to select all files

3. click ok or save or whatever and then once you have downloaded it unzip it

4. if it won't unzip (says some kind of error) use pkzipfix on the file from the dos prompt or the run line and then once that is complete open up the pkzipfix.zip file and voila!

Mizaq - I tried all those renaming schemes at least a dozen times each. I tried downloading the pkzipfix file from your other thread and it would only download as attachment, thereby rendering it useless. Thanks for trying to help, though.
