Ok .. have you scanned the registry for any reference to CIV3 ??
recommend you save your registry before you fiddle though ..
Im not sure if the paths are identical in XP .. I imagine they are .. but you may need to search if this doesn't work for you ..
run regedit ..
Save your current setup ( File->export registry) ....
and find the following key ..
MyComputer\Hkey_local_machine\software\microsoft\w
indows\current version\uninstall\
in there .. you will find a series of entries, find the one which has CIV3 specified .. and delete it ..
try again .. if it didn't work, or your worried it may have cocked something up ...
goback to regedit .. file->import registry, and select your backup)
which will restore all the settings ..
if XP doesn't hold it in the same location as NT4.0 ... use FIND to search for entries on CIV3 .. one of them will have the uninstall info.
