I have 3 questions but, right off, I have to say I think the game is fabulous. I thought I was hooked on Civ2 but Civ3 really has me: fresh, imaginative, subtle, and sophisticated in so many ways.
1. I've just downloaded the new patch and unfamiliar with downloads wondered if it automatically attaches itself to the program with no help from me? (It's gone into the Patches folder).
2. What are the little puffs of smoke that sort of explode at various places on the Civ3 landscape?
3. Are there only 2 levels of zoom? When I press Z it moves it out (distant) and press it again and it returns.

Answers:
1. It's an executable file, you have to run it for it to patch the game. It's quick, but it confirms it, so you'll know when the game is patched.
2. That "We Love The (King) Day" or, as abbrev. on this forum WLTKD. They're celebrating with fireworks. Good Job !
3. Yes. there are only 2 levels of zoom.
