How can I remove the Civ3Ed Document from the right-click/new menu in Windows 98?
Silly question, I know...But it doesn't hurt to ask.

I don't know why you'd want to, because it's harmless there, but here is how to get rid of it. This is for information only, I wouldn't do this, it may mess something up, and we are all having a tough enough time getting the game to run.
Here goes:
On your Windows Taskbar, on the left, click on:
Start --> Settings --> Folder Options --> File Types
Find "Civ3Ed Document" on the list and click on it
Click the Edit button
There will be a list of associated actions
Click to highlight "Open"
Click on the Remove button
When it asks if you are sure, click on Yes.
It should no longer be available.
Like I said, use at your own risk.

I could tell you how to do it properly but I won't. Instead, I will direct you to this page:http://support.microsoft.com/suppor...s/Q140/3/33.asp
Note that it is for Win95 but it will work in Win9x.
***WARNING***
The reason I give you the link and not the steps on how to do it is because it involves editing the registry. If, and only if, you completely understand what is being said in the article should you try to do this.
If you don't understand (hint: if you don't know how to get into the registry then don't bother) then don't try.
Edit: I should add that this article tells you how to add items to the context menu but from the info in the article it is very easy to find the appropriate key to remove.
