	Hey Moderators, can I post the Safedisk patch? Put an end to popups!

Simple question: I have the 1.16f patch that fixes the safedisk problem, and with all the copyright crap, I'd hate to close the forum down or anything.

HOWEVER, it IS a patch and many people need it.

Hey dude, chill out. FYI it IS a patch, assuming the definition of patch is an altered version of the .exe that FIXES A PROBLEM.

Yes, I understand the Firaxis policy, but I'm just tryin' to help people out that paid for the game.

Please don't condensend people that are trying to help.

You're totally right. FX and IG should be a little more concerned about REAL issues, like bugs they produce.

No, gamecopyworld did not get shut down but it will be a while before they get around to creating a No CD exe for it.

Tech support is not answering mail and I haven't been able to play since the patch on my laptop. This is ludicris and has been the topic of conversation on the other big Civ site out there (Civ*fanatics). This basically means that I have another weekend of not being able to play a game I paid for because they couldn't get their copy protection code correct.

Seeing as how I am new to this board could you expand on the 'German Translation bit'?

As a matter of fact, gamecopyworld is already providing a no-cd fix for the 1.16f version of the game.
In my opninion, that is a bless. I was not able to run the game because of that stupid protection, even though I have an original copy!!!

	Error with fix Support Apolyton, pre-order Civilization IV

When I try to extract the gamecopy world fix, I get the error "! C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\b7npbkg2.ace: Unknown method in Civilization3.exe
"

does anyone else get an error when trying to extract the fix. I would like to use the game but it kept freezing up on me with the orgional c opy and the patch won't find my CD. I hoped this exe would fix the error but now the exe won't extract. Any suggestions?

What program are you trying to use to extract the exe file? You have to use winAce or something similar. Winzip will not work.

no, you can not post a patch containing a modified exe file that has not been released by firaxis
