Here's my (pathetic, I know) first mod. Any critics or suggestion are welcome. Actually this is the first thing I have ever made for any game...
After all the troubles I had with the first mod I started from scrath. Hope it works out better now...
NEWEST VERSION: 0.2
*Version 0.2
Changed the Mongol leader's title from Warlord to Genghis Khan (Universal King).
Changed the Mongol leader's name from Genghis Khan to Temüjin.
Changed the graphics for the Mounted Archer from original Firaxis Horseman graphics to Horse Archer graphics made by Apolyton member Kryten.
Changed the name of "Horseback Riding" to "Mounted Tactics" so that making the "Elephant" strategic resource with this tech doesn't seem so wierd to get elephants when you learn to ride horses (since horses are afraid of elephants...).
*Version 0.1
Changes:
*Ivory (luxury) has been replaced with Elephants (strategic res.) using the same graphic. (See below)
*Scientists and Taxmen (specialists) now add 4 (NOT 1) to science and income respectively.

hetairoi,
Don't set any civilization to Build Never. They take that quite literally. AI civs do not do error checking to see if your setting is good strategically or not, they just follow it blindly. Setting the Mongols to Build Never: Culture means you will not see any temples, cathedrals, colosseums, libraries, universities, wonders, or anything of the like built by the Mongols, which would make them rather pathetic opposition, I should think.

I strongly object to the gurkhas being the INDIAN UU... thats absurd
the gurkhas are mercenaries from NEPAL... there are Gurkha units in the british and indian armies... not to mention in Nepal itself. Plus they have a mercenary record for serving a number of other governments.
I strongly suggest you change it

I agree the Indian UU of War Elephant was fine but it needs better stats.

Correct me if I am wrong but didn't the Mongols change his name to Genghis Khan in 1183?

"Temüjin now set about systematically eliminating all rivals. Successive coalitions formed by Jamuka were defeated. The Tatars were exterminated. Toghril allowed himself to be manoeuvred by Jamuka's intrigues and by his own son's ambitions and suspicions into outright war against Temüjin, and he and his Kereit people were destroyed. Finally, in the west, the Naiman ruler, fearful of the rising power of the Mongols, tried to form yet another coalition, with the participation of Jamuka, but was utterly defeated and lost his kingdom. Jamuka, inconstant as ever, deserted the Naiman Khan at the last moment. These campaigns took place in the few years before 1206 and left Temüjin master of the steppes. In that year a great assembly was held by the River Onon, and Temüjin was proclaimed Genghis Khan: the title probably meant Universal Ruler."
--Encyclopedia Britannica, Genghis Khan article
I could change his name to Temüjin, and his TITLE to Genghis Khan. How about that?

This change will be present in the next version, which will be released as soon as Kryten answers my PM, letting me know whether or not he will permit me to use his mounted archer graphics for my Mongol UU.

New version 0.2!
FROM READ-ME:
Hetairoi's Pathetic Mod (ver0.2):
Installation instructions:
1. Take a copy of your original civ3mod.bic (C:/.../Civ3), civilopedia.txt, PediaIcons.txt (C:/.../Civ3/Text) and units_32.pcx (C:/.../Civ3/units). Put them in a folder called something like Backup in your Civ3 directory.
2. Now unzip/extract all the zips (4) to any (new and empty) folder. Copy the file called Civ3mod.bic to your Civ3 directory. The two .txt files go in the C:/.../Civ3/Text folder. Create a folder in your Civ3/Art/units folder. Call it "Mounted Archer". Place the .INI, .AMB, and .FLC's. in that folder.
3. Run Civ3, start a new game. DONE!
CHANGES IN THIS VERSION:
Changed the Mongol leader's title from Warlord to Genghis Khan (Universal King).
Changed the Mongol leader's name from Genghis Khan to Temüjin.
Changed the graphics for the Mounted Archer from original Firaxis Horseman graphics to Horse Archer graphics made by Apolyton member Kryten.
Changed the name of "Horseback Riding" to "Mounted Tactics" so that making the "Elephant" strategic resource with this tech doesn't seem so wierd to get elephants when you learn to ride horses (since horses are afraid of elephants...).
Hope you enjoy the changes. Critisism and suggestions much appreciated!
!Remember to download all 4 zip-files!
