Best Game EVER! Low corruption, highly competitive Support Apolyton buy from Amazon

I just played the best game ever, there was very little corruption, alot of competition, good diplomacy. The secret was changing the civmod so that I was playing with 16 civs on a small map. Every civ had between 3-6 cities, which meant that every battle/city means SO much more than when you have 20 cities sprawling across the same space. This is the way the game was MEANT to be played. This is how I'm playing for now on. Give it a go. See if you had as much success as I. Although I could not "WIN" the game by 2050, I was able to continue on and see some real power struggles develop, and MAN was it FUN!

Tired of ads?

Huge map, a hundred cities, with turns alternating between half an hour of needless micromanagement and half an hour of waiting for the ai to play its turn?

Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

LOL ... those minutes inbetween turns are extremely useful:

1. Watch TV.
2. File nails.
3. Drink coffee.
4. Watch more TV.
5. Look at screen to see what's going on.
6. Another sup of coffee.
7. Blow nail dust from out between the keys.
8. Flick through the manual.
9. Glance at screen.
10. Post a couple of messages at Apolyton.net.
11. Glance at screen.
12. Get a bath.
13. Make next turn.

See? A veritable plethora of options

Heh, I'm playing a "epic" game right now. It's amazing how many loads of dirty clothes you can wash in between turns. I look at it as a "feature" ..............Z

I see what you mean, and IŽll give it a try. Yes, less can sometimes be more. Great idea!

Avatar Enlargement: We've got the solution

The small map sounds like a good idea to me. I have one question though...do you still progress through the tech tree at the same rate?

Support Apolyton or Terrorists Win

no. tech is a little slower... in 2050 I was just hitting the modern age with the Americans. A few of the other civs had a few techs on me, but the boring boring boring task of micromanageing 20 cities is gone. The 'threat' of war is SO much greater since if you loose one city, that's a MAJOR part of your civ gone. You find youself pushing for peace more (unless you're a war monger, then it might be easier for you to dominate) What amazed me most was that there wasn't a single civ eliminated until well into the game (about 1400 bc)

Give it a try. You might find yourself liking the game in a whole new 'stratigic' way. Or you'll just waste a few hours to find out you like the old way better.
