What did you expect? US government should have thought that they need to give political asylum to whoever talks about the whereabouts of Osama and the Mulla Omar! Money isn't of any good if the person who gets the reward is in risk of getting killed. That person could be chased by fundamentalists for life!

Zealot, that was done. The US offered immigration assistance to squealers. The full extent was never discussed in detail. I don't know if they were offering "witness protection type" deals. But it sounded close.

If Bin Laden has any brains (and the planning of the Pentagon and WTC attacks strongly suggests that he does), then he probably left Afganistan on Sept 12.
On the other hand, if he's so stuipid as to expect the attacks would do something other then really piss the Americans off, then he's probably somewhere in Afganistan, running for his life

Most Afghans ain't likely to turn one of their own in to foreigners. Nobody can say bin Laden's ass isn't dead and rotting in one of those bombed out caves. Moving cross country in the white mountains in winter is a *****. He may not have even ever been there, but he's at the very least neutralized to the extent that he has to look over his shoulder constantly and lay extremely low.

One thing's for certain for both Omar and bin Laden - time ain't on their side.

Omar is no where near Bin Laden. Omar also isn't an Al Qaeda member and as you notice there aren't many loyal Taliban fighters near Tora Bora. Omar fled from Kandahar before the city fell and went north into the mountains.

Still the whereabouts of both men are unknown, and reports the Al Qaeda members gave could easily be a ploy (Ret.Gen.Grange also keeps this option open). AL Qaeda is very skilled in giving out misinformation.

It is possible they will be found, but they won't be together when it happends. They are always named in one sentence, but really don't have a very close bond.

Osama and Omar chained to parade floats along with other captured al-Qaeda (and John Walker too). We can send the parade down Manahatten. Public humiliation is the greatest of all punishements.

Muzzled reports area already filtering from Turkey that plans are in works. Plus Iraqi Radar is picking up U-2's over Baghdad and area's not in the no-fly zone (unusaul)

Are you talking about years ago, or now? It's not like there's newspaper deliveries in Tora Bora or satellite dishes to get CNN. And years ago, he would have figured it out soon enough, although the leak was stupid, it didn't get much newsplay.
