For Soren: Corruption & it's problems Support Apolyton, buy Call to Power 2

MAIN PROBLEM:

Idea for having high corruption with many cities is GOOD.

But, at the end is comes to having several cities around For. P. and Palace having good amount of Shields & Commerce, and rest 1 shield & one commerce.

About commerce: No problem, it is mostly spent globaly not localy (exept for luxury rates wich NOBODY use, since lux. res. are VERY POWERFULL).

But production? There is a problem. Most of them are used localy, for buildings & defensive units, rarely globaly, for wealth (wich is just too weak), offensive units or Wonders. This frustrates too many civ players.

So, on one side you have unrealisticly high corruption in distant cities (even for 25+ cities empires), but on other side you have PRETTY GOOD production in your main cities.

Communism is exception. All cities suffer same corruption.

It kills a trill of conquering a world. I mean why sould I conquer a city if it woun't give me anyting. So this results in razing too many cities by players, and keeping only those with resourses or near capitol or F.P.

Also it makes starting positions decide the outcome of the game.
If you start in the "corner" distance penalties for corruption are too big.
Which makes Palace (too much expensive in 1.16f pacth) & F.P. placement just too much important.

So my proposal is this:

CORRUPTION NEEDS TO BE MORE EQUALLY SPREAD.

Which means:
DISTANCE MODIFIER FOR CORRUPTION NEED TO BE LOWERED.
TOO MANY CITIES COR. MODIFIED NEEDS TO BE INCREASED (MAYBE)

Anyway modern Demcracy should give corruption like something between Communism (more equally spred) but still a little bit cenrtalized (near capitol).

The way it is now capitol city even in 25+ extra cities (norm maps) empires gives only 1-3% corruption. This needs to be more like 20-30%. In such case far distant cities have corruption of 99%. This needs to be more like 65-75% (all this with Corth. & Police Stations built).

So corruption should be more similar to Communsm corruption model, but NOT TO MUCH (captiol should still be important)

Suggestion:
To help new Civ players I thing that corruption modifier (in editor) for Cieftain level should be 200%, Warlord 150%, Regent 100%, Monarch 100%, Emperor 85%, Deity 70%.

It could be made as an start game option also:
High 70%
Medium 100%
Low 150%
Very Low 200%

P.S.
It would be nice if Firaxis could relese Corruption formula math.

This also applies to Bombardment & Air superriority formula.

yep but i think in the next patch they could limit the corruption for big city's like : each point over 20 pop +1 schield would be more logic
it's not because a city is ruled by an ennemy that a city dont produce.
less due to sabotage maybe.....

Support Apolyton, buy Galactic Civilizations

So, what do YOU Apolytoneers think?

Is a distance cor. factor to big?
Is, on the other hand, a num. of cities factor just for flavor?

Inflate your Upload Space

Maybe the game is meant to be played such that far away cities are only good for producing Wealth.
Could be the reason why the Roman, Greek, Mongol Empires collapsed: too much corruption due to too many cities.
