CIV 2 maxing CPU in W2000 Support Apolyton or Terrorists Win

Having played civ2 on Windows 95, 98 and NT (after some tweaking), I'm now stumped by a problem with Windows2000.

I've dealt with several minor errors - such as video problems- but now after a couple of minutes play, Civ2.exe begins to take up 98-100 per cent of CPU time, slowing to a crawl and becoming unplayable.

Does anyone have any idea why this might be happening?

Perhaps you should go to Techtv.com and search for the answers there, or you can try to Install some tools like Apcompat (located on the Win.2000 CD in the support folder.) Apcompat makes programs that run on win.95,98,etc. Compatible with win. 2000

Good Luck & May the Force Be with you.
