No, the internet is (among other things) a refuge for socially poorly adjusted people who can't take any real heat in their lives, so they act out from behind the safety of their own monitors and dialup connections. That's not all of the people on the internet, of course, but a large proportion of those people end up basing their whole social lives online.

Yeah, right there is. They just all pick the one subject they know that will make him go ballistic, while the same people have made and continue to make comments about how he's emotionally unstable, repressed, in denial of his sexuality, etc. And what a coincidence, that's THE ONE SUBJECT the little group continuously gets in his face about. Trying to justify it doesn't change the fact that it's callous and chickenshit.

Given a choice between banning you for your "cold steel pole out of their ass" remark, or responding in kind, I chose to respond in kind.
If you'd prefer, next time I will be very polite, and simply ban you for a period of time.

Actually, my "god-like muscle of authority" is currently involved in closing deals worth 65 million dollars over the next three years for the company I'm working for, while simultaneously doing a specialty software development / remote process control startup where I'm providing the venture capital and securing contracts.
So juvenile forum fun and games aren't really my idea of how I'd prefer to spend time. That's why I usually ignore them, until the complaints pile up in my email inbox. And my real life "authority" gives me about a trillion times the charge I get from the "authority" here.
