Hey Lonestar!
First you ask me to reply to you, but when I post asking you what next, you decide to ignore me! Nah, I'm not upset, just jerking your chain.
Anyway,
For the Gaians. Since I seem to be the person who has "intimate" contact with the Star Children of Gaia (if you could call it as intimate), the Gaian Federation is aligned with Caretakers, not Usurpers. However, since Alynzia is an off-again/on-again author, I think it would be best to pm her with any questions.
So....what, Lonestar? Can we collaborate on our confrontation, man? Let's discuss what should happen next. Oh, well...gonna do a follow-up later.

Mellian, things seem much clearer now! There was never a full explanation about the Scions (or at least one that I read anyway ).
Anyways, I never said 36! If you read my post carefully:
quote: I wasn't planning to create big Organic ships en masse straight away! We currently have about 26 Organic ships which are not huge ships (since constructing huge Organic ships would require lots of infrastructure, which we seriously lack and will start rebuilding after the succession) but I don't think that you can call them "harmless" either. |
BTW don't worry about the organic ships, they are quite small and mobile actually.
Anyways, I meant to say that the Saturn Kingdom has very low knowledge of Biometal but Dr. Tanaka (Research Minister) will, in my next post, ask the Queen to make contacts with them (to which she'll say "NOT NOW! We are in the middle of a war!" ). It's organic ships, not biometal (which I am still not clear what the hell it is ).
History Guy, expect my post pretty soon - we'll send one diplomatic ship, carrying our diplomatic teams, and one small lightly armed escourt. Both ships will enter FTL to get to Morgan Interstellar and will carry your diplomats back to Titan.

Scions will NOT consider inferior technology, money of anykind, resources and etc as a good reason why they should speak to the Titanians... since they don't need the stuff. Scion technology could bring the TA up to par with the Chironians, probably just as advance or further as/then the Protectorate. Hey, Scions specializes in Nanotechnology and Biometal as their technological specialties....
Lonestar
I know about nanotechnology and the idea that the Shadows ship are actually nanoships.... but it is very advance Nanotechnology, which i won't allow the Protectorate to have..... Nanotechnology is just a Field, not a complete tech by itself.... the further up that field, the more wonders and actual Techs you can develop.
So i connect Nanotech hulls to Nanometallurgy and Nanoconstruction... not the superiorilly advance shadows. If people want, we could have the Shadows and the Vorlons in the galaxy, just that the Fraal, an ancient old race themselves, this part of the galaxy under their protection.... so Shadows or Vorlons get to play with humanity
anyway, got to go.... will find some text on Biometal....and maybe Organic armor and so on..

grrr, dislike forgetting to put NOT and CAN'T in some sentences, grrr
with the Fraal in this part of the galaxy, where they humanity i their area of space... Shadows and Vorlons wouldn't be able to play with humanity.
Cybergod
Like i said, the Scions do not trust the rest of humanity with good reason. They are also Pacifists...but still capable to wage war if needed... So figure out a reason why the Scions should trust the Titanians... and then try to make it sincere then just wanting to have access to Biometal and other Scion technology. Just to say, they do keep themselves of events in Sol and out. Oh, and there is no Scion Leader you can contact.... just a Council, a Conclave..... equally and fairly representing the whole society. And if relations do ever happen, they will simply assign someone that will specificly deal with Titan, and who the Titan would contact....
And do keep the TAF factor in mind... they are keeping a watch on the Scions.. not because the TAF doesn't trust them, just doesn't trust the rest of Sol and there is no non-human on Dark Planet and Scions will never allow any... so the further the TAF ever get is a ship in high orbit of Dark Planet.
compatible relations i can see, with some work to go pass the Scions' distrust of rest of humanity....
Scions and Gaians
Scions and Cyborgs
thats it reallly.... but anyone can try... but there is factions the Scions distrust the most, like the Coalition, Combine, InEn, Morganites and etc...
Scions have occasional friendly contact with the Fraal too.... and no Scions ships as ever left Sol.... except back at the old secret Scion War, where they lost some of their people at that Alien system far far away... not knowing what happens to them..... to far to make any difference to BAC.

Plasma Cannons, the heavy capital ship hitters, can also be use....but not effective against smaller and higher maneuverable ships oh, and Gauss Cannons? |
Of course - there are only two or three Battleships or a carrier in a Battle Squadron, and rarely a Dreadnaught.
Cybergod: From my limited experience of Battlezone, it is a durable alloy that can be molded as easily as, say, Play-Doh, at least compared to other normal metals like adamantium or the other hi-tech alloys that are used for the ablative armour in CSN ships.
You can "program" it - throw a chunk of it in a suitable factory, and you can have anything from a bunch of infantry armours to a tank in a little amount of time.
But there's probably much more, and I am no specialist.

Whoa!
well, sorry. I was thinking about having LP Ian have a direct broadcast to "The Three most probable locations of the Hive Throneworld". Thoughts?

Not necessary, although over the next few weeks I'm going to build the Hferhin as a Drakh-like ally of the Usurpers.

quote: Well, I've sent another round of diplomatic maneuvres! Morgan, have fun... |
Sure, OK, Cyber. As soon as old Vera gets over here, we'll take Mrs. Rabinowitch, Mr. Gabriel Alands, and Mr. Sym, stuff them in a little ship, and toss them as fast as possible over to Saturn.
quote: Well History Guy, I do like your viewpoint on the Hive. I like it when other factions describe the Hive Empire. I'm looking forward reading about Mr. Sym's adventure's. |
You don't mind the fact that I portrayed it as being down on Chiron way back when, do you? 'Cause whenever I play the game (and I'm not playing The Human Hive, or as I like to do it--- The Human Stye), the Hive is down!!
As for Mr. Sym, you will no doubt find him useful. I'll keep him around for a while, until you guys have enough info, then I'll kill him off in some neat fashion...any suggestions?
quote: Anyway, Minister Ehud and Spymaster Shirlak have an excellent plot waiting for the Morganites. |
Yeah, OK, but now we are just waiting for the Hive to do something sneaky, due to Mr. Delbar intercepting that message. (Mr. Delbar, Lord love him...finally did in that trashcan!)
quote: Morgan, will Sym have special quaters and "contacts" at Horizon Aida? I am assuming that he will spy on the EC and the Hive from Titan... |
Cybergod, yes, he shall. Contacts who give him information, and then want something for it...heh heh. Anyway, Mr. Sym is gathering info for the Hive, but don't worry, he shan't be spying on the Saturn Kingdom in the least, as he does not give the Terrans info, as he still is just a little patriotic in the sense that he has no respect for the Terrans, whereas he does for the Hive.
Kassiopeia, Mein Pal, perhaps you had better launch your counterattack on Callisto now before the Morganite transports arrive to get Marmion out.

Sure not nescessarilly, but i won`t allow any humans have Shadow like ships, even if you change the color and make them more cheery. Shadows is an ancient old race with enough time to develop their nanotechnology to very high and impressive levels. Protectorate doesn`t have that time to do that and your not going to get such technology from your "graveyard". also need a high understanding of Nanotechnology to be able to make use of such damaged and ruin gizmos you find at that graveyard. Protectorate as a tech lead, sure... but not several 1000 years worth like the Shadows had.
Nanotechnology, Biotechnology, Cybernetics, etc are Fields
Nanometallurgy, Pulse Cannons, Chaos/Disruptors, tractor beams, ramscoops, FTL, etc are Application develop from those Fields. The more research you do in those Fields, the more wonderful applications you can make.
Yes, i am using the Master of Orion 3 research concept stated on their site and at the MOO3 threads by Stormhound... but they do make a lot of sense.
So, for BAC, Nanotech Hulls are possible with the use of Nanometallurgy and Nanoconstruction... not ships completly made of nanites.
As for that race your making... didn`t i say Proginators are Xenophobic with good reason, unless they are primitives they can use as slaves? or Battle Thralls, without giving them advance proginator technology?
As for Biometal...
Yes, Biometal is in a way "play doh" which you can sort of program in various shape and so on. But you can also "program" Biometal to be as strong as Admantium or flexible as rubber.... if you know the chemical and molecular knowledge of such things... Biometal made stuff is also quite easy to repair, "or heal" The Scions use Nanotechnology to mold the Biometal into whatever they need.... Scions figured out to reproduce the stuff, as long as they have spare Biometal samples, which they always do. took them few centuries to figure that out just to say too. Scions also learn how to basicly morph units or whatever into other things, with the use of nanotechnology and the knowledge how to program Biometal... So their ships could be very flexible and adapt to whatever situation. With their improves, they can adapt as quickly as the Borg, in a Scion like way Since Scions are merge to Biometal, and they do have an unkenny knowledge to the stuff and can easilly have MMI links to it.
Biometal is mysterious... and only the Scions is generally have the stuff and have the most understanding, figure out new ways to use the stuff. Of course, the Fraal knows the origins of Biometal and generally use some version of Biometal for their ships, but do not reveal anything. They prefer that teh races figure it out for themselves.. because when they do, generally means they are ready for it... unless they find some artifacts or ruins where they acquire a advance tech... or some advance race giving a inferior race the tech... which robs a Species a chance to propperlly be ready for it as a society and etc....
Corrections
Non-Scions are not allowed on the Dark Planet...maybe except the Fraal.....
The Fraal...
was about to write some stuff about the Fraal, but someone needs the computer, grr...

The short discription of the Hferhin.
These race of tall, craggy humanoids live on the Rim Wolrd of Harresssh(with 3 "s"). There is evidence that the ancient race that created the Manifolds (I'm not convinced it was the Progenitors) worked on Harresssh, creating a proto-planet mind.
The Hferhin evolved along with this ultra-primative neural network (which was limited to one continent) and was able to use the network to rapidly advance their technology.
The Usurpers arrived over Harressh about 1500 years ago, about the time of the last great Progenitor Civil War, looking for allies, Manifolds, etc. After promising the Hferhin a hand in Godhood, the Hferhin Entire voted to ally with the Usurpers, and they have been with them ever since.
The Hferhin have the unique ability to tap directly into a Planetmind, as a result of their evolution. All Hferhin on the Usurper ship down over Chiron were killed.
The Hferhin have also become blood enemies with the Dosi, as the Dosi are seen as (incorrectly) holding a Manifold and not shareing the spoils.

Ok people I'm back after my rest and recuperation,
Lonestar,
I like how you name Hive Prime the "Throneworld"....sounds catchy. (Sorry, but I'm being a little narcissistic ) However, I do find it troubling that the Protectorate would know anything about Hive space.
I kind of wanted Hive space unknown to everyone except me. Could we rather them say "regions" instead of "systems"? That way it sounds vague, but at the same time the Protectorate has a general idea of where the Throneworld is. (I really like that )
I do not want to have anyone know where Hive Prime is right now (considering Spartan's are looking for it) but the message can be relayed to the Throneworld.
On to my 'Project Mindbend', why do you want to research this? Maybe we can make a compromise here. I really want diplomatic channels between our two empires.
Lastly, is it alright if I break the jamming and send a distress?

Nah, I don't mind. I think it fits in well with my timeline. With the war goinging badly against the Chironian factions at that time (except the Spartans who were our "ally" at the time), the fact that we left Chiron on bad terms sets the mood!
As for our Morganite plot, don't worry. I'll consult with you before posting anything to make sure that it is ok.
Do you mean how Mr. Sym should die, History?
Ok, I think I've talked long enough...now, to type.

Cyber, should I write the post of Vera's arrival and the subsequent boarding of the ships by Morgan dignitaries, or should you?
quote: As for our Morganite plot, don't worry. I'll consult with you before posting anything to make sure that it is ok. |
OK, Franky sounds good. Morgan may have something forming from under his sleeve as well. And hey, yeah, I'm still trying to come up with a neat death scene for Mr. Sym.
quote: Alrighty Frankychan, I've sent the transmission. Incidently, LP Ian looks like This on the vid of message. |
Hmmm...good Lord! I wonder if Yang looks like the Penguine on the vid screen!!
And hey, incidentally, has anyone ever written some fiction piece for the Planet Cult? I have seen little fiction written about Cha Dawn, Domai, and Svensgaard, and alot on the Probe guys, and a bit on the aliens and the Consciousness.
