GM COMMENTS:
Well, we have to say goodbye this turn to another brave leader - Oda, well done for lasting so long in the fight-fest that was central Japan and thankyou for playing. El Awrence could do with learning a few things from HDS, who still handed in moves on time even when he only had one unit. Come on, Hoggy, you're better than this.

Oda EOG: This was an awesome map even when I first saw it, so when the chance came up to play on it, I jumped at it. Then I got tapped for Oda, and saw what lay ahead, and knew then that I was in for something a little different: exquisite, unending pain.
Midian and MDR got ahold of me very early in the game and we formed something of a tripartite from the onset. That may have been a fatal error on my part, because I had faith that Takeda would be able to at least negotiate a Hojo-Uesugi war by siding with one or the other. I guess they smelled through that one real fast, because after the freebie SCs got absorbed, so did Takeda, which removed the person covering my northern flank. Since I didn't get in on any of that action, being the nice guy that I am, they gained it all and I gained new neighbors. That was the first shoe to drop.
The second shoe was Asakura, with whom I had established a decent relationship before I stabbed him. He put up such a spirited defense that it held me too long without victory in the region. That was about the same time I realized that when Takeda bowed under, I had a new border abutting two larger powers than myself, and with Chosokabe still tied up with trying to placate Shimazu and kill Mori, I was the last turkey sandwich at the bar mitzvah buffet that was central Japan. Yay.
Being the kind of person that I am, and trying to play up Oda Nobunaga to the hilt, I informed both Uesugi and Hojo that if they trod beyond a particular province it would be considered an act of war. They took it exactly the way they should have and decided to do something about me. Uesugi's reply in particular was especially scathing, and I wish him worms in his skull for his audacity. By this point, Mori was dying swiftly at the hands of Shimazu and Chosokabe, but I was still tied up with tenacious Asakura, who wasted no effort in undermining my defense against Uesugi as spiteful vengeance. Realizing that even with two units Asakura was going to ruin my world, I decided to try and cut a deal with him to get him off my back. When Uesugi hit him right when he was supposed to, it gave some measure of credit to my "it's us or them" argument, and for a time we coexited before Asakura's eventual exile to Korea. I'm certain he plans on returning to feed my corpse to ants and birds for what I did, and frankly, I don't blame him.
When the dreaded Hojo-Uesugi alliance broke down, I harbored some small hope that I would be left alone for a time, which offered up numerous possibilties for advancement later, provided Chosokabe could do half of what he told me he could. But by that point, it dawned on me that MDR had become Ruffhaus's tool (judging by the disposition of forces, I don't fault him for doing so: that was a LOT of lime green), and Defiant was under no illusion of leaving me alive (karma's gonna leave a welt on that boy, I swear. . .). His offensive into the center was not halted by his new war with Uesugi. Shimazu moved into range in time to render some assistance to me, but the cards were already drawn and read.
At any rate, this was a cut-rate game and I enjoyed myself despite nearly every well-laid plan and scheme going to pot pretty early on. The Shogunate is still under contention, and who knows how it will play out from here?
