I'm in! However, 2 things: we are getting a severe storm here right now, with probable large amounts of freezing rain. This may mean I will lose power on short notice. If for any reason I don't respond over the next several days its probably because I'm huddling in the dark, my teeth chattering.
Second, Apothos is MIA in the No AI game over at Civilization. FYI as I believe this game is sitting on his plate right now as well.

Hopefully, Apothos is just busy and hasn't vanished for good.

If I am reading the thread correctly, then the game is still in year 2101.

Since all I really am doing is holding passwords for the game, I don't want to try to make any decisions for the group, but it looks like you have two options:

1. Have Radman send me Apothos' turn. I know the password Apothos intends to use in the game, so I could play the first turn for him and we can hope he shows up before the next turn rolls around.

-or-

2. Since it is the very first turn, you may want to advertise for a replacement, especially since you are all looking to get a few turns under your belts in the next few days.

I hope nothing has happened to Apothos, either. However, if Apothos doesn't show by this weekend (i.e. the latest we had planned to have a turnfest) then I vote for option 2. Also, Q, if I do get knocked off air because of this storm, then if you could please play my turn(s) for me.

Has anyone emailed Apothos? It would be a shame to drop him if he's just having a busy week or something. That being said, if we don't hear from him at all, then let's consider our other options.

Hopefully, Apothos will show up for the second turn, but it might be a good idea to start advertising for a possible replacement. I might even have someone in mind. With a small map, I don't want to play many turns, especially in these early turns. We want to give someone a chance to build their own empire.

Of course, this is all moot if Apothos comes back in the next day or two (fingers crossed).

I have secured a very reliable replacement for Apothos in case he doesn't make it back before his next turn. On a small world like this, I am very hesitant to take a second turn, especially with such critical early decisions such as tech choices and build priorities. I know the way I would play it, but that most likely will differ from whoever eventually inherits the faction, so we might as well make the switch now.

Radman, if Apothos hasn't posted here, or responded to your e-mails, by the time you play your turn, send it on to me again and I will redirect it to the new player.

NorthSwordsman has agreed to take over as leader of the Peacekeeping Forces. I have asked Radman to send the turn directly to NorthSwordsman. I can assure you that NorthSwordsman is one of the most reliable players you will find, so hopefully the game can pick up its pace from here on.

arborman and Ironwood, please send me your passwords. I am sure you both are in for the long run in this game, but if either of you suddenly vanished, like Apothos, the game would be dead. Thanks.
