I want to suggest that we call this game over. It has now been almost seven weeks since the last real turn, there are dozenz of NMRs and player changes. I donīt see any point in continuing. And frankly, I will not continue even you others want, this game is no fun anymore whatsoever. So, do agree to end this game now? Or do you want to go on?

I agree with Ruffhaus8, lets continue, MDR has put a lot of time into this game already as well as the players, if would unfair to discontinue this game and it stills remains of interest to me, battling the CSA infidals in Kam.

Ok, my orders are in (infact for a long time now) I will, however, not go on playing after this turn. There are several reasons why. Not only that I think it makes no sense to play a game where turns are weeks apart (wich ruins every diplomatic efforts) but also that I find it "unusual" to give people so much time after NMRs. I said this before, I was set NMR after being 24 hours late (being on vacation) and that seems not to be the standart for everyone. All in all this game holds no interest for me anymore. Sorry.

I can't blame Sahib for his rationale here but we now need another replacement, shouldn't be too hard, Turkey is one of the strongest coutries on the board.

Cross-posted from Frontier thread:

Here's a craaaazy idea that might just work. Why doesn't Mensius keep Brazil in this game so as not to interrupt all the dipping that's been going on, and Charger take over Turkey from Sahib in Imp Dip, which is in an excellent position and will more than compensate - why disrupt 2 games, when we can get away with just disrupting 1?

Have a think about it....

Although I wish that Sahib would stay (and write to me!) I believe that Orange was on standby for this game having been turned down for replacement assignments as both France and Holland in this game.

Look, no offense to MDR who has put much effort into GMing this game. Much thanks to both him and the mapmakers. I have to agree though, that this game has bogged down slightly. Unless firm deadlines are established, as was in the beginning, I too will grow increasingly frustrated.
Therefore, I propose a 4-way draw: CSA, Mexico, England and China. You ask why I excluded Holland and France? THEY BOTH QUIT AND F'D THIS GAME. No offense to the replacements, but lets call an end to players deciding that their position is fruitless and quitting. The sudden need to replace 2 large countries was unexcussable and has soiled this fine game. This club is walking a tightrope right now. We need to concentrate on sticking with the current games and seeing them through. No more replacements!

Has 1 set of moves occurred with the "replacement" Dutch and French? NO. Therefore, if the game ended TODAY, then we should not reward those who quit. Understand now?

Here's a link to the map provided by MDR in his e-mail with the Fall 1868 adjudication. I'll post it to the official thread when he creates one.

Sahib, I am sorry to see you go. Why turns have been bogged down like this is not becuase I've been waiting for players to get their moves in on time, however. It's due to lack of time. I set the deadlines up for the days I'm most likely to have the two plus hours it takes to adjudicate around 200 units and edit the map. Right now, I am trying to graduate college, finish a major project (both for college and trying to find a job), work my part time job, find a new job so that I can pay for what's left of college, and still find time to sleep and eat. Diplomacy and other games get stuck somewhere in the middle.

Actually, the Divine Order could give a rat's ass about Holland and France and whether or not they're included on the list. We do, however, protest the lack of Austria's name in consideration of the Final Four.

No groin-kicking please.
