I have been playing civ3 for about a month now. My main complaint is that I never know when my turn is up. Early in the game, not much is going on and the game prompts you to click the button to end the turn.
Once things get going good, the game no longer asks you to click the button- all of a sudden your turn is over, the AI guys are scrambling over the scenery. You get the "please wait" prompt a lot when the AI is thinking. A few times I only got to move one unit and the AI was off to the races with its turn.
The bottom line is-once the AI is going there's no stopping it. If you missed moving some of your units- it's too late .
Am I mssing the boat on this??

Have you checked the box "always wait at end of turn" in the preferences?
