	armies how to use a newbie asks Put an end to popups!

Hi All

My problem is I am new to the game and have a problem which
I am wondering how to overcome

Once I have made an army how do I load it up with units
and use it the army flag icon comes on but I have to use each unit and I got beaten in a seige and lost the leader icon.


Can someone walk me thru exactly how to create and use armies properly....


I must be a) dumb

b) STUPID


any help gratefully appreciated

It's simple, all you have to do is get a unit on the same square as the Army then press the "L" (for Load) key.

One important note to keep in mind:
Your army and the units you want to load into it must be in a city... the same city at that.

Just to make sure you understand everything fine, ill go thru it step by step, even though you probably understand most already.

1) Get a leader and some units into a city.
2) Select the leader and click the icon to "Build army"
3) Select the unit you want to put in the army. Press "L".
4) Repeat step 3 another 2 times.
5) Go out and try to kill something

That's not right, I'm able to load a unit anywhere I want.

You can't create a Leader, it has to appear in a battle. If one of your Elite units wins a battle against another civ's forces, there's a 1/16 (so I've read) chance that one will appear. The odds are a bit better if you are a Militaristic civ, and/or you build the Heroic Epic, but not by much. The best I've read is 8 Leaders in an entire game by a Militaristic war monger, so they're quite rare. You have to use them wisely.

No, Leaders can only be land units. Unfortunately they didn't think to extend them to the other areas. Maybe in the next patch, who knows.
