The time now is.... Suffering from ads?

18:57 according to my computer - but its about five minutes slow. The Poly clock say 19:11.

Is there a reason its ahead of time by ~10 minutes?

Maybe it's set about an hour fast each day to compensate for server slowdown. By midnight, it'll be bang on time.

Either that, or it is a slow preparation for another time-warp

time all over the world is wrong anyways. How is your time right? Do you synchronize it with the atomic clock in Colorado?

And in a related note, how does the U.S. goverment know the atomic clock was set to the right time to begin with? Did they measure the angle the earth was to the sun? How does anyone know what time it is?

Its so that you look at the 'Poly clock and think "ah crap, I have to go to my lesson now" and get there on time, rather than 5 minutes late.

Until you figure out that that is what's going on...

Colorado is not the home of time, Greeenwich is. Americo-centrism once again.

Time is arbritrary, but it helps if we have some kind of standardization - therefore we agree to run on the same time +/- hours or half hours. Poly is bucking the trend and created its own time zone.

Browse Apolyton AD-FREE

the atomic clock is located in the U.S. not Greenwhich.

and this should be obvious. But I will spell it out. You can use that source as an accurate source of time. What you do then is add or subtract hours depending on what time zone you live in. Jeez.

Yeah, I am getting +6 minutes myself. My computer's clock is the only one that stays going when the power goes off, so I base all my other clocks in my apartment on this one here.

I don't know about other versions, but XP updates the system clock every time it goes online - so when I get back to my room, I'll be able to check what is presumably a reasonably reputable time-check.

The clock on my work pc is 7 minutes behind Apolyton. But it is 4 minutes ahead of the clock on my phone, and 9 minutes behind the clock on the tower of city hall.

I agree with Hydey. If the shadows are getting long, it's time to go home! If the eastern sky is pink, my son will soon be demanding breakfast. It's good enough to approximate!

Dissident, it seems like you are fishing for someone to start singing that dumb song "Does anybody really know what time it is? Does anybody really care?"
