	big problem with xp... Tired of ads?

...i just installed civ3 on my xp machine. (latest patch applied)
so i started it and
the screen starts to flicker as hell !!!

any advise??? thank you!

	Increase the size of your Attachments

Most of the time this is caused by wrong monitor drivers. Make sure that you donīt use standard MS drivers (e.g. standard vga etc.), use the right drivers for your monitor.

If you donīt have any especially made for your monitor model, try to find them on the web.

Another solution might be to edit the civ3.ini file, please consult the readme text file of civ3 to learn how...

One of the modifications in the patch was a refresh rate for your monitor. by default, it will be set to whatever Windows thinks it should be. you can add the line "Refresh=xx". start with 60 and work your way up. maybe this will help.

I'm running XP and not having any problems.

Well, other than the fact that after i installed the patch, the "New Game" set up screen has the text scrambled all over the place. very wierd.

For example... the text next to the "random" button under both the land type and the climate areas reads "Player Setup" instead. it's a mess
