The Finns got away with a lot of **** in that game. The "boarding" penalty was completely undeserved, and Selanne's dirty-as-all-hell hit on Pronger 30 seconds later went uncalled, despite Pronger bleeding like a stuck pig when he got back to the bench.

To me it seemed like same kind of checking (Selanne and that 'boarding' one). Only difference is pronger smashed his face. But other than Selanne's hit, what did finns get away with?
What about Foote and his 'playing'? I think he got away with lots of stuff too. It's always like this. First you complain that european players can't play tough, and when it hits you, you all go crying about it. As the saying goes, you get what you order.

But i'm not saying Selanne's hit was clean, it was a bit dirty.
And other than Foote, Canadians played clean. Especially Blake who can check! I'm looking forward to see him knocking out few americans or russians in the finals .

Foote was just tapping the guy in order to piss him off. The Finn retaliated with a slash, and the ref was smart enough not to call anything on the play.

The difference was that Selanne used his hand to drive Pronger's face into the glass, whereas the Canadian (can't remember who) pulled a perfectly clean hip-check. The Finn only fell like that cuz he turned his back to the play at the last second.

Overall, though, I don't think the Finns played an especially dirty game. It was just funny to hear you commenting that the refs were prejudiced against them.

I didn't say refs were prejudiced. Anyway i didn't mean it to sound like it. So Pronger turned his back, as did Ruutu before. We can always argue about how high everyones hands are, they're pretty high anyway. So tough playing is checking hard, letting hands go high, even let the stick hit sometimes, jump, check on someones back, but don't ever ever put your hand on someones head?

Buuut as i said before i think Selanne should of have a penalty for that, that's not my point. If it was the other way round, this wouldn't even be an issue. It would be 'europeans are sissys, they can't play hard, this is hockey!'. Well maybe not you, but generally anyway.
But i don't want to argue about one check because we agree that it was worth of penalty. And i think that the other one was too, though it was kind of .. bad luck for canadians because ruutu turned and i think it wasn't meant to be like that.

For me Tequila usually ends in more sorrow, or maybe more accurately severe episodes of cringeing the next morning, when I start to remember what I got up to the night before.

But that is the funniest part of the process! There's a little masochist inside of me that just loves hangovers. The harder the better. The best hangover is when you wake up in a same place with all the others who were drinking last night and start rewinding the last night's episodes... and the morning conversations are always the most obscene, pervert and funny.

Euro weenies, bet you can not even handle one bottle of Cuervo.
Maybe you should try soemthing easier to stomach, like Mezcal.

Tequila also makes me very generous to the less attractive members of the opposite sex, if you know what I mean...

As long as i am in well lit place I quite like tequila. If it's dark and I have problems seeing people properly then I'd rather go for beer or vodka..

Well... I once had a bottle and half of Cuervo before I went out, and then continued drinking (but switched to Jack D's). Needless to say I spewed my guts up, got kicked out of the club for falling down the stairs and hallucinated a fair bit.

We used to have Tequila nights with the uni basketball team and we'd average about 35-40 shots each.

You have to remember that Brits and Scandinavians can drink any Yank under the table . Continental Europe are rather more lightweight.

Too well... haven't noticed with Tequila, but any drink will do it if you drink enough (way too much in this case)

Rules of finnish boozing.

1.) if you are under 14, try to get your older brother etc. buy for you. Get at least 8 beers. Do stupid things, and piss older people.

2. 14-16. Get your parents to buy you a sixpack. Then you prepare with another sixpack, that leaves you with 12 beers at least. Drink it, have a fight, or sex. Be stupid. Piss off everyone.

3.) 16-18. Drink at least 8 beers before getting into a bar. In the bar spend at least 50 euros to hard booze. Try to get laid and fail miserably. Also get thrown out by the bounser and pick a fight outside. Be stupid, and throw up. If you can't get into a bar, hang near to one and drink a total of 24 beers. Get laid with 49 year old drunken ugly woman. Have a fight with rival underage drinkers.

4.) 18 and more. Drink at least ½l of hard booze. Get into a bar and drink drink drink. Get into another bar before 01.00. Try to get laid. End up with having a fight or going to ladys house. She want's to have sex, but you fail miserably. Pass out next to the woman and get out in the morning before she wakes up. Have a nice hangover.

That's about it, that's my story, and i think it goes with the majority .

I just love hangovers. Don't you love 'the night of the lizards'?
It's just plain fun to wake up every 15 minutes in scare. Remember that you have to have your stomach all messed up.
And start all over again!
