Well changing one thing in history won't change the amount of misery, injustice, etc. that has occurred.
So I would change something in my life.

I wouldn't change anything because doing something that stupid might cause the universe to explode...or somesuch. Then, what would be the point?

You cant apply modern definitions to things happened 2000 years ago. Because then everyone would've been Nazis and terrorists.

Cloning Christ would be fun, but I think I'd go back and persuade Pilate not to crucify Him. I can't imagine what the ramifications would be of Christ living to a ripe old age and dying of natural causes, but it would sure be interesting to find out.
Second choice would be doing something to assure that the Union lost the Civil War. Not only would the impact on world history be fascinating (imagine the 20th century without the US as a world power), but Bush, Clinton, Gingrich, Helmes, Lott, Delay, Gramm, Armey, and Thurmond would all be some other country's problem.

Unless the South managed to win in '63, which is certainly imagineable. Back in the 30s, I think, several historians wrote a book speculating on this scenario, and suggested that Texas would secede from the CSA and form a third, western country.
quote: But that would be interesting. But I don't think the effects would be that bad. I believe the 2 nations would be like the U.S. and Canada. They would never fight each other again. They would be allies. Both nations would have went to war in WW2. And both would have been victorious. Although what would happen after the war, would be interesting. So instead of a cold war with 2 nations, you would have 3 nations. |
Or 4, as above. But that assumes the countries would get along. it's also possible that the CSA would have prologed slavery and then, when it was no longer economically viable, set up something like Apartheid, thus becoming the Western Hemisphere's South Africa and a pariah in the world's eyes. But, yeah, it would be interesting to find out, wouldn't it?
