As of late, I have seen increased criticism of the US particularly by those in the EU. This policy of slander seems a bit hypocritical to me, espically when a couple months ago, you were all support. We said then that we were not waging a short term or single sighted war.
I am so sick and tired of reading about how the US is starting to totally suck, and how you freakin hypocrits think we should stop trying to kill terrorists now.
If you disagree, tell me why. I would very much like to know why the US "has started to suck big time," etc. We still do more for the rest of the world than the rest of the world combined. Would you rather us be isolationists and YOU have to foot the bill?

They know the US has habitually ignored them.
But now they've realized that the USA can go tell the rest of the world to ::censored:: up their ::censored::, as it has in the case of iraq, iran, and nk. Worse, they've realized the US military is capable of doing this. They realize that as things are, even in the guise of the EU, Europe is second to the US on the world stage.
Oh, you wanted the real version? Most of it's disturbing hype. Over 90% of the UK, for example, supported America in doign whatever it wanted in Guantanamo. Just another example of how politicians manipulate the issues for their own benefit around the world.
Speaking of politicians, as the EU gains power, are there plans for democratic elections of leaders?

He raises a valid question: Why do all the europeans on this board consider Ameica as a "sucky" (someone else's words) nation?

psss, Europe is the same sh!t as the US. Especially Britain.
Basically we are all sh!t. The only difference is the amount of power. The more power, the more damage.
Personally I have nothing negative against the US. They are a country like everyone other and they do what every other country does.

it is just propaganda Kaak, as the EU tries to prep themselves to go from our allies to our competitors
it is all posturing, so that they feel just, it is just national interests
really more dull than the US ones (we for some reason haven't seen that they are gearing up to be a competitor yet, hopefully we will (and people will restrain it) before they start making calls to replace our government for our own 'good')

you know what really busts my chops? (BTW what does this expression mean exactly?)
all those fat bastards who live in countries with no enemies and no problems and then critisize. I guess that's what busts the chops of the americans too.

Why do a significant proportion of Americans seem to think that English is native to their country, and didn't have European roots first
But just to lighten the mood:
quote: Having chosen English as the preferred
language in the EU, the European
Parliament has commissioned a
feasibility study in ways of improving
efficiency in communications between
Government departments.
European officials have often pointed out
that English spelling is unnecessarily
difficult; for example: cough, plough,
rough, through and thorough. What is
clearly needed is a phased programme of
changes to iron out these anomalies. The
programme would, of course, be
administered by a committee staff at top
level by participating nations.
In the first year, for example, the
committee would suggest using 's' instead
of the soft 'c'. Sertainly, sivil servants
in all sities would resieve this news with
joy. Then the hard 'c' could be replaced by
'k' sinse both letters are pronounsed
alike. Not only would this klear up
konfusion in the minds of klerikal workers,
but typewriters kould be made with one
less letter.
There would be growing enthusiasm when
in the sekond year, it was announsed that
the troublesome 'ph' would henseforth be
written 'f'. This would make words like
'fotograf'twenty persent shorter in print.
In the third year, publik akseptanse of the
new spelling kan be expekted to reash the
stage where more komplikated shanges
are possible. Governments would
enkourage the removal of double leters
whish have always been a deterent to
akurate speling.
We would al agre that the horible mes of
silent 'e's in the languag is disgrasful.
Therefor we kould drop them and kontinu
to read and writ as though nothing had
hapend. By this tim it woulde four years
sins the skem began and peopl would be
reseptive to steps sutsh as replasing 'th'
by 'z'. Perhaps zen ze funktion of 'w'
kould be taken on by 'v', vitsh is, after
al, half a 'w'. Shortly after zis, ze
unesesary 'o kould be dropd from vords
kontaining 'ou'. Similar arguments vud
of kors be aplid to ozer kombinations
of leters.
Kontinuing zis proses yer after yer, ve vud
eventuli hav a reli sensibl riten styl.
After tventi yers zer vud be no mor trubls,
difikultis and evrivun vud find it ezi tu
understand ech ozer. Ze drems of the
Guvermnt vud finali hav kum tru.

I am fine with the EU as our competitor
we just need to realise it is as such
oh, and hope that they become a democracy before hey get there hands on a military, since a democracy is less likely to handle things militarily usually
(and we can all agree that a US-EU armed conflict would be bad for both sides)
