	Why it doesn't showing that my pop is more than 320 million? Suffering from ads?

Hi!
After beating all the AI, I started playing with myself, as the lonely civ, in order to have a big and strong civilization.
My civ grew, but suddenly, the ppl counter in the status has stopped at 320m ppl.
The Demographics window doesn't refreshing also.
I did passed few turns, my cities grew, i didn't built engineers, there was no famine, no cities size decrease b/c of attacks, nothing to lower my pop.
This number haven't changed, and I'm very concered about that.
I checked my civ size manually, and discovered that i have 341m ppl, and not 320.

Any suggestions?

it's just the maximum the game can show. just as you can't have more than 127 cities, I think. or more than 30.000 Gold. the game is just too old and crappy to be able to calculate higher values... don't worry about it

Not exactly.
You can build up to 255 cities.
And for the gold and the population limits (30'000 and 320'000'000), you can overcome them with the patch I've just made for civ2 multiplayer. It still needs testing.

Ok then.
Thx for the info.
I guess I'll keep calculating my pop size with this qbasic program i made, unless ur patch works with civ2 normal 2 (i'm not going to buy civ2 mge, b/c when my new computer arrive, i would finally play smac and ctp).
Now it's my "farewell game" of civ 2.
I continue to play it after defeating all the ai, just to burn my time and to have fun.
I guess i start build the armor-wall in my borders

Even though the population maxes at 320m, your civ will continue to grow. The numbers just don't appear on the meter.

Ok then.
I decided to finnish that game, with populotion of about 400m ppl.
My new computer finally arrived, and I'll start to play CTP.

I have a new computer, so why should I play Civ2 after all of these years of playing it, when I have CTP and SMACK?

I'll get back to it in times when my computer will be down.

Max numbr of cities = 255
Max size of city = 127, if you go to 128 it reads as -1 and goes all screwy.

Limitations are due to the variables being stored in registers that cannot hold a value larger than what we are seeing. Hopefully in the next version, they will use larger registers to store the vaiables.
