That's what happens when you pour it on for 6+ mins in the middle of the 3rd period. The US had nothing left for the end, but they certainly came close. Brodeur won the game for us with his save on Hull at ~15 mins into the 3rd, and Iginla just confirmed it.

I wonder what the ratings were on the game up here. I'd be surprised if they had less than 10 million watching.

KH, if Canadians are half as much hockey fans as Finns are, I'd guess somewhere around 12 to 13 million. If it had been Finland in the final game, there would of been about 40 percent of the population watching.

I left Canada years ago and I hardly ever watch TV anymore. But I couldn't resist inviting the Molson's and the Labatt's over and watching this one.

Wayne might have been pulling figures out of his ass, but he used the numbers "15 or 20 million" a few minutes after I posted. Might be. All five members of my family watched, in 4 different locations including my brother at work.

That's 2/3 of the country tuned in! The Prime Minister called the team after the game to congratulate them. I never thought I'd see him and Gretzky chatting about hockey on live TV.

I was at a family get-together during the game... once the game ended, we started dinner, so I couldn't hear much of what was being said. (And I do so look forward to Don Cherry... Canada's answer to Wiglaf.) Chretien say anything particularly interesting or idiotic?

I did manage to see Chelios, Shanahan, Yzerman, and Hull get a photo together with their assorted medals... classy.
