I really don't want to have to learn a programming language to make scenarios. The process should be as streamlined and user-friendly as possible; this may be alright for modmakers, but at least include a simpler trigger-based system for those of us not as technologically inclined.

The SLIC scripting language takes more getting used to, while Civ2 uses a simpler system. Making the Civ2 "lanugage" more comprehensive, and move versitile should result in something similar, but a lot easier.

having done plenty of programming in C related languages before, then i'd have to give this a big YES! it doesnt look too complicated to learn either - as long as its simple yet powerful, then something like this would be brilliant!

I agree - make it as newbie-friendly as it possibly can be.

Other then that; this suggestion is like kicking in already open doors - who can possibly have anything against this feature?

Obviously, esier tools are needed for the casual modifier/scenario builder. But the a powerful SLIC-like language should also be built into the game's scenario building model so that the hardcore scenario wizards out there can do their magic with as few limits as possible. That's how will get the best scenarios in the long run.

Full PM-box? Change here!

A system like the one used in Comic Chat 2.5 is fine with me (you know, the automations?)

Support Apolyton, pre-order Civilization IV

How about having 2 languages? One that would be a "advanced" version of the FW/ToT language, and a more SLIC like one which would be harder to learn, but more powerful. Suit the needs of everyone.

... except the original game programmers. You know, you can't expect wonders.
