Do you tell them? Ever let them post? Are they in awe of your posting prowess or just think you're strange?

I think I can say without fear of contradiction that Mrs Horse thinks my posting here is a total waste of time and holds you all in same contempt she holds me for wasting my time here.

Otoh, my 7 year old thinks its cool

As far as I know, my roommates and friends all think I'm crazy for spending as much time here as I do. However, I have gotten my brother to post here infrequently.

Well, since I'm enjoying the life of the bachelor at the present, I have no hubby to worry about.

As for my friends and family -- none of them know I'm an Apolyton member, since very few of them have an interest on the wonderful things the Internet has to offer to the same extent that I do.

When I'm with them, I usually do not talk about what I do on the Internet. Just not a casual, conversation topic that comes up with my friends and family.

Parents think it is a total waste of time and speak of Apolyton derisively (they see the site name when I'm on the computer at home).

My g/f thinks it is kind of wierd. But when I tell her about how many people I know, she still thinks it's wierd . But a little cooler. She's familiar with message boards, but she's probably thought I've gone overboard with it .

Several of my friends thought I was so cool for posting here they decided to post themselves.

One stayed, one got banned because we both posted from college network and thus had the same IP address (guess what happened to him ), and another just didn't return.

My girlfriend thinks I'm a nerd for posting here. She feels she has to compete with this site for my attention, so when I'm browsing/ posting at home, she does her best to distract me into spending more time with her. That can be pretty hilarious.

Most of my friends don't know I post here, since they have no reason to know. I don't go saying "Hey, I post on the internet!" when I meet them; we've got more interesting things to do or talk about.

One friend knows I post here because he sits behind me in Computational Science in the computer lab, and always sees me posting while the professor talks. He thinks that it's dumb that I go to a game site dedicated to a particular game, and then don't talk about that game; other than that, he has no comment.

I post here, Lately things have been slow. I like to spam troll and goof around. My signifigant other thinks it is cool considering I don't do it at home, he has his own interests though, my kids have no idea because like I said I don't post from home..only at work when times are slow or when I can fit it in...

Laura knows I post here... I've even asked her to register a few times, but she demurrs, saying "it's not my thing."

Of course, she has no problem reading threads, making comments, and asking me "Can you say this?" To which I tell her "Why don't you register and say it yourself" and thus the vicious cycle perpetuates itself.

She once seemed serious about it, to the point where I sent MtG an email letting him know that there will be two logins from one computer so please, don't ban us both. But, well, she didn't.

She and I've met a couple of Apolytoners: Chegitz, Bunnygrrl and MBloomIII. Actually, just this last weekend MBloom and we went to go see the touring production of "Rent," which was pretty damn good. Chegitz and Bunnygrrl came through Knoxville on their way to Jax and we had dinner at a Mexican place called, appropriately enough, Che Guevara's. And I won't even go into the fiascos that trying to meet Mao and MLeonard turned out to be...

Hmmmmmmm......considering my significant other and I met here I guess we both are considerate of the time we each spend here.

I got turned on to this place by someone I worked with who posts here and then got Blackwidow24 and Femmeadonis to come here. My kids used to not understand why I spent so much time here and then tia's kid starting posting when we let her and she got hooked!
