No I use the radio to call off the airstrikes, go in by myself with my M-16 that fires bullets like those fired from the Golden gun from that one 007 game. One shot and you are dead. I will also be wearing super-bullet proof kelvar vest that weighs like nothing, and it would even block scrap-metal.

The reason why non-American troops are staying mostly behind the lines is because the US military insists on it being that way, not that you will believe me. Besides, most of the ground fighting is being done by the Northern Alliance troops, who are Afghani. It is the ground troops that endure the most risk, and Americans are mostly fighting from the sky.

Now that i have established your hipocrisy, let me tell you some facts

Australia only has a few thousand troops, most of which are busy helping East Timor repair itself as the world's newest democracy. With a limited supply of troops, much of our elite SAS troops were committed to the anti-terrorism cause. Australian troops being left behind as a token force only serves to highlight the value they gave to the US effort in coming to the rescue.

A slight swelling of pride at Aussie troops contributing to the war against terrorism is the only crime committed by AH.

So, Wiglaf, slap yourself in the face, dunk your head in cold water, and repeat ten times "Australia is not the enemy!"

*There were numerous incidents during 'Operation Stabalise' where an ichy Australian or Indonesian trigger finger would have sparked an all out war.

Why then (as I've said before) do the non-American coalition governments not complain about all the support fees being wasted to the troops in Afghanistan who aren't being used because of the US? Maybe because they serve a rather important PR purpose...?

Australians have never had strategic command. It used to always be the British calling the shots, and since WWII, the Yanks. The moronic British command sent ANZACs to their deaths at Gallipoli and elsewhere in WWI (along with many of their own), and MacArthur did everything in his power to exclude Australian troops from the push to Japan in WWII. We didn't like it then, and never will, but when you have a small armed forces and you put up your hand to help your allies in foreign conflicts, you don't have much choice.

Isn't it enough that we're stretching our resources as far as we can to help? It seems like you were oblivious that the US command has relegated their allies to the more menial task of holding the pieces together once the US troops have gone home bathed in glory. Hey, we don't mind helping, but please don't insult us by belittling our support

Wiglaf, if you were on top of the news, you would have heard of the relatives of Australians killed in the WTC who were allegedly discouraged by the Australian government from pursuing litigation, and jumped on us Aussies like a ton of bricks. I for one distance myself from the greedy bastards who seem to be trying to cash in on their relatives' misfortune.

Now if only the Australian government would try and discourage ALL litigation in this country, we could have our volunteer clubs and community events back, not to mention our specialist doctors back in our public hospitals
