quote: Australian troops have played a pivotal role in saving the lives of 25 US soldiers stranded after a helicopter crash in eastern Afghanistan earlier this week.
blah blah blah
Brigadier Duncan Lewis says Australian troops exchanged fire with Al Qaeda and Taliban fighters, while aiding stranded US soldiers after a helicopter crash.
Six Americans were killed in the crash. |
They aided some stranded soldiers after a helicopter crash. That's remarkable. Care to explain exactly how our guys were "aided", anyone? And the casualty figures on the Aussie side during this heroic little effort while under such "terrible enemy fire"? Yawwwwn...
Edit: Notice also that the picture on the ABC site is one of American troops. I've yet to see one picture of British/Canadian/Australian guys in action like that.
Edit 2: I want a FOX link too, for obvious reasons...Now.

I can not find a Fox link to confirm it for Wiglaf. However I did find something to confirm that we aren't the only power with troops taking part in the on going opp:
The large-scale U.S. assault, code-named Operation Anaconda, marked a new approach. Instead of relying on Afghan forces to take the fight to the Al Qaeda, with U.S. troops in support, the Americans took the lead. Afghan, Canadian, Australian, German, Danish, Norwegian and French forces were supporting.
Fighting was fierce, by all accounts, in difficult conditions.

Is anyone else suprised that the French are taking part in the ongoing battle? I wonder how they stifle the urge to surrender.

Of your everyday, average blinded liberal silly American I guess.
quote: No, I'm talking about WFAA News, an ABC affiliate, for one.
The Dallas News, for another.
How many sources you need before you're not so wigged out? |
How cute. Dallas News? I want a link. WFAA, PDFSBDIBI, PFHNIUFUSBN, DFUSJIDCMNF, yadadadadda. I wanted FOX.
quote: You seem to be quite the ghoul. What with wanting people to die and all that. I wonder why providing apparently needed military resources isn't enough to satisfy you. Why exactly are you baying for blood? |
I don't want anyone to die. It's just that lots of Americans have, proof that they've been involved in serious combat, yet no Aussies at all did in Anaconda. Something's a little wrong with that picture...maybe the coalition isn't doing all they could?
I'd be a lot happier if you guys could provide a detailed link straight from FOX that spells out exactly how we were "bailed out" so to speak by allied forces, whether they be French, Czechinbakish, Canadians, Aussies, whatever and whoever. That would remove most of the doubt in my mind.
