linux pbem help Support Apolyton, pre-order Civilization IV

Hi All

I have a problem where my save*.csg files in a linux cannot be loaded onto a windows pbem game.

I have applied the 1.2a patch.

What am I doing wrong. How do I get linux and windows compatiability.

The possibilities are legion: 2 OS on 1 PC (with shared HDDs), FTP, etc, you name it...

CtP for Windows and CtP for Linux are two different games developed for two different OSs by two different companies. Although not 100% impossible, I seriously doubt that the savegame formats would be compatible. Is this advertised anywhere? If not, then they're probably not compatible and you'll have to play games either in Windows or in Linux - switching between the two OSs with a savegame is most likely not possible.

You can load linux save games in windows, but you get some very strange results, like e.g. all cities having a forcefield even in the ancient age, making the game unplayable.

it seems linux ctp saved games do load under windows so far without any problems once the 1.2a patch is installed.

Currently palying the world story game and it seems fine.
