	Need to get rid of that foul music Support Apolyton buy from Amazon

Does anyone else absolutly hate the in game music for the modern age? It sounds like some muzak cross between Kenny G, Enya, and Yanni.

Since most of the sound in the game is in MP3 format I have been trying to replace the modern age music with a few selections from my MP3 library but I have been unable to locate the proper music files.

Can anyone tell me what files are used for the modern age and if there are any tricks to getting the game to recognize my MP3s? Better yet, is there some way to get the game to pull MP3s out of my music library? (Perhaps I can put an alias/shortcut of my music folder somewhere in the game folder?)

civ3 folder/ sounds/ build/ ind modern/ smash techno, etc they dont have ind at he front.

just rename files to smash.mp3 or whatever

Civ3 can't play music from your mp3 folder but it shouldn't be a problem to turn the music off and let an mp3 player run in the background.

I had the very same problem, and ended up using several programs to mix my own modern music using the Civ2 stuff and selections from other games. But I agree, it's much much easier to just turn off the sound and play something else in the backround

Thanks for your help. I think I am going to try and replace the games MP3 files. I like the music for the other ages and I think that would be the most elegent solution.

Failing that I can always quit out and launch my MP3 player

I agree with you. The music is great untill the modern age.

I tried changing the names of some of my MP3s and putting them in the folder. It works great. The only problem (and its a minor one) is that the MP3s are recorded at a different level than those included in the game. It shouldnt be hard to fix some Music to match.

I almost fell out of my chair laughing the first time I heard the Modern Age music. The Spanish guitar doesn't fit my modern armor rolling over a town. I liked the other ages music very much. I still don't like the Asian music. Far too twangy and just odd to my ear.

I particularly hate that saxophoney one, it's muzak at it's very worse. I was playing one time and for some strange reason it got stuck on playing that track and that track only . Whoever composed that piece should go write advertising jingles or elevator music.
The music in all the other ages is mostly unobtrusive, but the modern age music just makes my ears bleed!
