Hi,
Firstly thanks for Freeciv, takes me back to civ 1 on the amiga.
and my problem,
Im using freeciv on win2k with the cygwin, as per the tutorial. How do i make it use another tileset though? I add the --tiles data/hires to the "start civclient.exe" in the "startxwin.bat". This still uses the original tiles. how do I change them
Thanks

Persius, I think the command you want to use is --tiles hires. The reason is the tilesets are all referenced relative to the data directory. (At least that's my understanding from a scan through the code)
However, Hires is an isometric tileset (actually the default isometric tileset). If your version of the client can't handle isometric graphics, you won't be able to use it.

Someone had made a group of comparative screenshots and posted the URL on the freeciv-dev mailing list, but I couldn't find it in the archives. Probably I searched on the wrong keywords. If you want to download tilesets that aren't part of the main distrbutions, look here. The tilesets are about in the middle of the page.
